Inktober's prompt for today was "Lady", so I poked the internet and found Lady Louise Windsor who actually does look a great deal like her gran, Queen Elizabeth II. My portraiture skills do not do justice to the resemblance (which I think is sweet.)

I dropped off my two "Bad Art" drawings at Oakland Animal Services. They had not collected original art last year, so I arranged to drop off the originals I did last year, as well. I hope the folks who generously made donations go get their drawings. Better than having them sit in my art drawer.

#BodegaCat #Caturday OK, this is not a bodega, but is the local garden store. The staffer I spoke to told me the cat lives across the street, but is very welcome as said cat made all the rodents disappear from the grounds. Good cat.

While walking around the neighborhood, I spotted this cactus flower. Note the bee inside. Once the bee exited, I stuck my nose in there and discovered it did have a slight floral scent.

New cooktop! Replaces a 30? year old cooktop that was not installed level, did not have a strong burner, required frequent tinkering to get the igniter to work and was a death trap. Bonus is the griddle that comes with it. I still hate cooking, but will hate it less now.

More in my chaotic manga. Two sailors meet two sirens. This is all blue ink on Canson paper. It took "forever" because I had to research American Sign Language (ASL), Florida tourist attractions, Navy uniforms... well you get the idea.

Navy recruiters discuss mermaids. Two of them to to "the mermaid park" (with the children of one of them in tow) One mermaid tells the other to remember to use her breathing tube as her not using it freaked out "that lady from tampa". Last panel is the two mermaids doing water dancing while holding their air tubes.

The latest in my comix series. A woman who can see through anything (pretty much). Not x-ray vision, per se, but the ability to take a deep look at things.

It has started, as have the mistakes and chemistry experiments. Both the Sailor ink and the India ink are very water soluble, so I got White Out, correction tape, and Sharpies. I put in an order for archival waterproof ink with JetPens. In the interim, I correct and do the pencil work.

Reason 1 million why Oakland is awesome. A musician gave a talk on Arabic music to a diverse room of people, including a gentleman wearing a kippah made with a fabric that has musical instruments printed on it. Music unites us. Being in Oakland unites us. This was at the library. Also awesome.
