Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Doesn’t look very pretty - but tonight we canned up 13 jars of cat food for our ginger one! He’s actually looking really healthy on it - the vet calls him “well made” LOL. The winter fluff is also coming in thick and floofy! So - stinky job, but appreciated by the smallest member of the house 071
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Got loads of chillis left over from my food collection. Got two bags in the freezer so debating what to do with this treasure? Whatever - it’s going to be a spicy day 😝 350
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Grrr! Did all the research before my youngest went off to Uni - course, accommodation and support! Everything was going perfectly. Sadly one of his profs is an anti-vax, climate denying Trumper transphobe …. So looks like it’s going to be a long year! 330
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Busy day here at the Croft! But I did manage to get one batch of dehydrating in. One bag of frozen peas - into one jar. I don’t do peas as a side but as an ingredient & I hate random peas falling out in the freezer. So a solution to one of the annoying things in life LOL 280

Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Fragrant hour on the Croft today … stripping a stash of thyme that has been run through the dehydrator. Not a lot of yield - but it’s another thing that doesn’t need to be bought from the crofts coffer! And the smell - oh my goodness! 150
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Oh the horror!!!! Scotland is willing to come and teach you to ceilidh ?? 2102
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Last success of the day - 500g of basil salt! TBH there is more here than I will use in a year so once I am sure it’s very dry I will decant it into three or four smaller jars and gift them to my friends. It’s amazing stuff on a tasteless February tomato - really makes it taste like summer 050
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026It’s a bit of a production but today saw two new litre jars go into the store. A mirepiox and a holy trinity as the base for so many dinners over the next year 170
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Oh my goodness - just when I thought I was on top of this weeks freebies a pal dropped these off! Thirty pears looking for a good home! Now I still have ten jars of canned pears in the Cantry … so I think I will throw these into the slow cooker and make pear and cinnamon butter instead! 040
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Leftover chillis strung up to slowly dry in a south facing window. Got a freezer stash already so happy to wait for these to dry out and store longer term. But doesn’t it look festive? LOL 270
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026How wonderfully green is the basil salt going into the dehydrator today? Smells like a face full of summer! 030
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Busy day on the Croft dealing with some leftover foods that need preserving. Basil will be made into basil salt. Thyme will be dehydrated as will the carrots and mushrooms. Chillis will be strung onto thread and hung in the window so slowly dry out for chilli flakes and seeds for next year! 050
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Still processing the 15 kilos of organic carrots I scored for FREE! Top and tail. Chop into 1cm dice. Blanche & ice-bath then into the dehydrator till bedtime. 14 kilos will make a little over 1.5 litres of dried bits, that’s the big jar at the back. Now to keep an eye open for next project. 140
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Yesterdays prep for winter here on the Croft!! Six coleslaw mix, 5 salsa, 5 lemon green beans & 3 balsamic beans. Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Local lady got these delivered by mistake. Amazon said - keep the wrong ones! Wrong ones are now in my store … about three years of tonic to go with the endless bottles of gin I have accumulated. MERRY XMAS ABODY!!! Lol 030
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Taken all morning - but I’ve managed to find a deal to switch from Scottish Power onto a long term fix (Sept 2028) It’s a bit more - but less than the 20 % plus it’s going up in January. Why is this so fecking complicated??? 030
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Showing you how the free food I scored over the weekend ended up being just about a whole jar of dehydrated bits. So much easier to store on the shelf for cooked dishes through the winter & TBH you can’t even tell they have been dried Saving the pennies so I can have more people at my table x 050
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Had an amazing night requesting on Olio. I requested one of each veg and got all of them as no one else requested them. So today is all about preserving this bounty for the winter to come! RRP was £22.63 BTW 272
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 18/09/2026You have no idea how “erratic” my cycle would have been if you’d have asked me to do this: 9 day cycle 30 day cycle 3 day cycle 77 day cycle Absolutely fecking NOT!!! 150
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 18/09/2026LIDL special this week - and for me this is special!! 2 x 300g of sock wool which is enough to knit six pairs of socks this winter! Just £3.99 each - so £1.33 per pair of socks. Cosy ties for everybody!!! 3725
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Ok - it’s freezer day!! All freezers (three of them) need to be defrosted and cleaned. All food needs to be listed and everything returned. All random fruit to be removed and turned into jams and cordials to clear out some space - and boy, there are sooo many bags! 050
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 13/09/2026So young guys in vests at the next table at our cafe are talking about “alpha”, “beta” males and “cucks. So these twatwaffles believe that gender is on a spectrum …. Right? RIGHT??? So that makes them “allies” - think I will join the conversation just to make their heads spin LOL 270

Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Aran cable cushion all finished ready for a visit up at my youngest’s halls tomorrow. They saw a picture and loved it … so I made it as a “room warming” present. It’s so squishy! 1352
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 06/09/2026My local ,grumpy, antisocial (ok, downright fucking rude) butcher has decided that a wee pot of beef dripping is going to be £8 this year! And you cannae make stovies or skirlie without dripping! So I have caved and bought these abominations instead - £1.20 instead of £8.00 - but “the flegs!” 250
Elainecolliar (Still Yes) @elainecolliar.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Dehydrator has been working overtime these last few days - 2 recycled mayo jars jars worth! 1.
