Replacing shoes costs much less than gas, tires, oil changes, and repairs. I would trade a 1 hour commute for a 1 hour walk or getting an e scooter/bike for a hell of a lot less than a car costs. I used to have a 1 hour commute, it blows, add in a car accident on the route and my evening is blown.

Given how much joy I get out of watching my koi 24/7 when I am away from home makes it 100% worth it. Just to be able to check in and assure myself things are fine and fish are fine when across the country helps

Omg this dude and the banister of the spiral stair case and hallway rail over the entrance way. When he was much younger he would strut along that banister rail. Then he fell once all the way down 13 ft to the floor. He was fine, chipped a smidge off his fang and bruised his lip; more careful now

I’ve had 1 and a half. When I moved out to the apartments I couldn’t take Winston my first Burmese with me. And he was totally my Velcro baby. So in my absence he became quite bonded to mom by the time I got a home. Winston is 16 and such an old man. But such a good boy.

Let’s talk trupunto. The quilting technique where you have extra fluff under the subject matter and less fluff elsewhere to create the illusion of a foreground and background. This is particularly fun when working with quilt panels.

Another quilt project prepped! Going to have a whale of a time! Not sure when this one will get finished; unless there is a silly amount of hype. Trying much smaller triangles to see how it looks. I have a lovely piece I want to make, but need some more alignment practice!

I keep a set of musicians ear plugs on me at all times to reduce noise outside the vocal range. 100% worth it to cut down the stimulation and still can get work done

I think fast fashion has caught up to the art communities. I would take a very hard look at what is on your table and the tables of others. Of what you sell; what would survive a cross country move. What would the buyer actually pack into a box, pay to have it moved, and actually unpack it after?

I’m just ticked seeing so many folks make like 20 designs and then only sell disposable merch at their table. Even the art shows don’t have original art in them like they used to, just prints or recolored prints. What happened to actually making things?

Additionally I have recommended so many times to Dena that request photos of the set ups to place similar display styles together. Turned your table into a walk in booth? Put them all together. Banner displays at the front of the table? What a great look to see a wall of art together. Just imagine

I am 100% in agreement. When conventions say NO FAN ART OR IP INFRINGEMENT and then you walk the den and within a 10 second glance spot 10% of the den participating in fan art, another 10% that is just mass production of licensed from other artists tee shirts/poster/buttons. It just sucks.

Finally using some neat neon thread that shifts between green, blue, and purple. Working on getting the quilt finished for my October gallery showcase. A local apartment building hosts local artists and I was accepted to fill their lobby for the month. Wooo for local art support!

The journey continues. The top of the quilt is assembled into one piece. Quilters call it the flimsy until you finish it with backing fabric and batting. Time to get the spooky season quilt loaded onto the quilt machine!

If the flight was more than 90 minutes I would have confronted the behavior immediately. 45 minutes; yeah worth suffering in silence. I fly for work a lot, I will not tolerate folks invading my space when my company is spending $200 per way on my flight
