I am still reflecting on my recent visit to the Obama Presidential Library. It was such a privilege to see the exhibitions & watch history unfold from floor to floor. I hope you have a chance to visit & take in the magnitude of progress made. As a fellow public servant, the experience was inspiring.

I am always reminding people that milkweed is not an undesirable weed, but an important part of green infrastructure - and the best home for monarchs. 🦋 🌿 I planted these a couple of years ago; they have multiplied & become stronger at the root.🐛

11 a.m. Storm Update: MWRD continues to manage flow after yesterday’s storm The #MWRD's Tunnel & Reservoir Plan (TARP) is protecting the quality of the region’s water resources & mitigating flooding for 3.71 million people served through combined sewer systems. ➡️ ow.ly/jPo650YstZH #Update
Press release from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago dated March 11, 2026, titled "11 a.m. Storm Update: MWRD continues to manage flow after yesterday’s storm." The release explains that after heavy storms, MWRD’s Tunnel and Reservoir Plan (TARP) is protecting water quality and mitigating flooding for 3.71 million people served by combined sewer systems. TARP is holding over 2.4 billion gallons of water. The McCook Reservoir is 51% full (1.8 billion gallons), and the Thornton Composite Reservoir is 8% full (600 million gallons). The release details how MWRD manages water levels and encourages residents to conserve water to help prevent flooding. It includes quotes from MWRD President Kari K. Steele and links to learn more about TARP and how to help prevent flooding.
