it's about fucking time, but of course not anywhere near enough. The GOP didn't mind leaving the government shut down from October 1st to November 13th last year, and the GOP has been talking about how there will be another government shutdown for several days now at least.

A press release from Chuck Schumer indicating, in light of yet another completely innocent person being executed in the street by ICE, that Senate Democrats will not provide votes for any appropriations bill (which requires passage by 1/30/26 to avert a shutdown) that includes DHS funding unless ICE's abuses of power are stopped.
