look i know this is the wikipedia version of his defense but god this guy is annoying
Searle notes that (in this simple version of the reply) the "system" is nothing more than a collection of ordinary physical objects; it grants the power of understanding and consciousness to "the conjunction of that person and bits of paper" [29] without making any effort to explain how this pile of objects has become a conscious, thinking being. Searle argues that no reasonable person should be satisfied with the reply, unless they are "under the grip of an ideology", 29] In order for this reply to be remotely plausible, one must take it for granted that consciousness can be the product of an information processing "system", and does not require anything resembling the actual biology of the brain.Searle then responds by simplifying this list of physical objects: he asks what happens if the man memorizes the rules and keeps track of everything in his head? Then the whole system consists of just one object: the man himself.
Searle argues that if the man does not understand Chinese then the system does not understand Chinese either because now "the
system" and "the man" both describe exactly the same object. 291

• Noctalia currently has no shared login-box defaults or wildcard monitor setting. I’ll add a small package patch so your existing
lockscreen_widgets.enabled = false also hides the login box’s media and weather row on every monitor, including newly connected
  ones.

This will require building Noctalia from source. I’ll build and validate the change without activating it.

Andrew Wiles, as part of the Clay Institute's scientific advisory board, hoped that the choice of US$1 million prize money would popularize, among general audiences, both the selected problems as well as the "excitement of mathematical endeavor" [6] Another board
member, Fields medalist Alain Connes, hoped that the publicity around the unsolved problems would help to combat the "wrong idea" among the public that mathematics would be "overtaken by computers".?]

has anyone considered just downloading releases straight from github?
you should actively moderate what gets uploaded on crates.io. You should even control naming conventions etc. If you want to be more liberal because some femboy might have objections, then do it like Zig.
Shut crates.io down and let anyone download dependencies from his trusted sources - see github. The situation is ridiculous

Kevin Coogan was an American journalist. |21
He wrote several documents on the Lyndon LaRouche network and studied third positionists; he also wrote for the music magazine Hit List.!'! Coogan spent 10 years working on Dreamer of the Day. !21
The book was published in 1999 by the publisher Autonomedia, a self-described
"autonomous zone for arts radicals in both old and new media". [3] The first edition had 644 pages and was in paperback format. 4]
Dreamer of the Day was the only book of Coogan's published while he was alive. He wrote another manuscript entitled Red Swastika about the Russian political activist Aleksandr Dugin but never published it."]

astra is a powerful model and we are working to make it generally available.

we do not think it is a good strategy to keep powerful models to a chosen few.
given its cyber capabilities, we need a little big longer to do do this safely. but hopefully not too long!heartbreaking: the worst person you know just made a good point

yeah this is specific to tailscale refusing to be an identity provider, which is understandable but very annoying. the official docs recommend a ludicrous workaround
If you're not ready to make the move to passkeys, here's another reason you might want to use them — to create a backup user for your tailnet. Invite yourself as an admin of your tailnet, with a passkey. user on a yubikey. Just as you might register multiple hardware second factors for an account, create a backup Tailscale user in case you get locked out of your primary account. At this time, you cannot add a passkey to an existing login, so this method of creating backup access to your tailnet does require an additional user.

put a PIN on it, or buy one with biometrics, or do both. unrelated .webp btw:
the github settings page for authentication with a prominent button reading “Add passkey” and a related text element reading “2 passkeys configured.” this is because it is possible and indeed quite easy to add multiple passkeys to something

Economists can't do Algebra!
Automobiles are added to GDP but since 1946 their Depreciation has not been subtracted to compute the NET Domestic Product.
Oh economists don't talk abt NDP.
So planned obsolescence increases GDP but consumers aren't supposed to think about the unchanging Model-T.
