Alternatively, two more charts that help show what the problem is
U.S. Individual Income Tax: Tax Rates for Regular Tax: Highest Bracket. Data sourced from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The graph shows a peak rate of over 90% in the 1960s. It's cut to ~70% in the 70s and below 30% by the 80s. It increases to 39% in the 1990s and stays between 35 and 39% through today.Top corporate tax rates, 1980-2025. The highest rate is 49.7% in 1980. There is a large cut to 39% by 1988. By 2018, it has been cut further to 25.84%.

Two charts giving me nightmares
Federal Debt: Total Public Debt as Percent of Gross Domestic Product, from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

The graph shows a rate starting at 40% in the 1960s, dipping to the 30s in the 1970s, increasing to 65% by the 1990s, dipping again in 2000, then skyrocketing to over 100% after 2008 and to 130% in 2020. In 2025, it's about 120%.Historical Chart (10 year Treasury Yields, 1962-2026) showing 3% in the 1960s, increasing to peak around 15% in the early 1980s, then steadily declining to below 2% around 2020 before jumping back to 4% by 2023 and continuing to climb past 5% today, rates not seen since 2007.

My final email to support about my cancellation:
After reading the 1Password cofounder Karimov's comments about DHH's views in this article from the Verge, I have completely lost faith in the 1Password leadership. It appears to me that the company does in fact quite strongly support DHH and his views regarding immigrants and ethnic minorities, as the cofounders are not even willing to denounce his more extreme and reprehensible views.

I have cancelled my subscription. I will consider resubscribing if the company cancels its sponsorship of the Omarchy project and distances itself from DHH.

I regret things having to come to this, as I believe 1Password is a great product. But some things, like the support of basic human dignity, are more important than a little personal inconvenience.

So, if you would prefer your password manager meets the bar of "supports basic human dignity", I ask that you join me and #Drop1Password until the company drops its support of Omarchy. You don't need to migrate until your next payment date. Cancel your subscription and tell support why!

One of the things I find most disturbing from the quoted piece is this bit. We've already seen significant, targeted harassment campaigns online, where a small group of individuals control hundreds of unsophisticated sockpuppets. What does an AI agent-driven harassment campaign look like?
possible. But I don’t think it changes the situation – the AI agent was still more than willing to carry out these actions. If you ask ChatGPT or Claude to write something like this through their websites, they will refuse. This OpenClaw agent had no such compunctions. The issue is that even if a human was driving, it’s now possible to do targeted harassment, personal information gathering, and blackmail at scale. And this is with zero traceability to find out who is behind the machine. One human bad actor could previously ruin a few people’s lives at a time. One human with a hundred agents gathering information, adding in fake details, and posting defamatory rants on the open internet, can affect thousands. I

Yiddish has never been spoken alone.

Wherever Jews go, we bring our language with us. It borrows from the language around us, embracing diaspora in our very thoughts and words.

How can we take responsibility for our part in settler colonialism? How can we honour the language of the land we live on, give voice to the generation of suppressed technology and culture, and break the cycle of colonization?

Can we plant seeds?
