Hernia surgeries are extremely common. Get checked for them and don't let them get bad. The first couple days post inguinal repair feel like getting kicked in the dick by a horse. It's getting better but man, it's unpleasant. The actual incisions are all tiny and painless though lol

I was supposed to stream more today and it turned into an all day cleaning fest to get the whole house ready. Tomorrow though, Silent Hill: Townfall for a couple chapters before the Big Day and we'll finish it whenever I can actually manage to sit in a chair for multiple hours again

Got my final time for my surgery, got almost everything set up as best as I can. It's finally all real, I just have to print off paperwork, dust and vacuum and wash my sheets. I'm gonna be HEALTHY (and also possibly very bruised, swollen and in pain for a week)

Silent Hill: Townfall is quite good so far. The vibes are on, the combat and stealth is kinda clunky but good enough, I like the puzzles so far and it's graphically pretty amazing. And what little music I've heard has been really really good

Kojima continuing Zone of the Enders would have been really cool because I think the actual sci-fi space setting would have worked out great for the sort of future speculative weirdness that he likes. Damn ZOE2 is just an incredible game though.

Turns out cleaning this room and getting it set up for recovery takes way longer than I thought and none of the wedge pillows we have are the right height so my neck hurts if I sleep on my back so now I'm just repeatedly hopping in and out of bed as I try every combination of pillows in the house

I'm going to try to stream Silent Hill: Townfall this week before my surgery but I probably won't finish it. We'll see how long I'm totally out of it for but I was told about a week until I feel pretty good. I've gone way overboard on preparing for post surgery so I'm hoping it goes smoothly

Playing Wolverine on hard with all the navigation turned off feels pretty much fine. I don't really subscribe to this idea that gaming's moved beyond linear action setpiece games and they kinda just feel like home to me like an old PS2 brawler lol. It's not amazing but it's fun enough

The Marsupilami games are just really good DKC clones. The first one is pretty easy but the new 2nd game I think adds enough right away to be interesting for more experienced players and speedrunners looking for something to play. The music's great, it looks cute, controls great, $30, pretty cool

I think I've gotten pretty tired of Nintendo kids trying to tear down environmental effects to push Vivid Mode saturated colors that you'd find on a display TV. It's okay for games to be a little desaturated for vibe and mood reasons. Your precious Nintendo will be okay using tech from this decade

I was pretty sure that Onimusha would end up as the worst of Capcom's 4 huge games this year. I originally thought Monster Hunter Stories 3 wouldn't be great, I was proven extremely wrong. Pragmata is genuinely amazing. RE9 was extremely good. Onimusha is also extremely good. Capcom 2026 is CRAZY

I don't have any witty snark for the OoT remake. Using UE5 for it is a weird choice and there are small details on Link's outfit that are causing noise that I don't like but I think it looks fine/good and the fact that it's 60fps in UE5 on Switch 2 is genuinely crazy after Yoshi Book had wobbly fps

People get really reductive with high end visual stuff in games but man, if you aren't impressed by the artistry in the facial animations during cutscenes or the vast array of combat animations that even include momentum during parries in Onimusha, I don't know, you're just being weird
