Had to quit a small Ghost fan group after surprise vitriol towards me and another nonbinary fan. This is apparently news to some people but lgbtq people are allowed to exist in the same spaces as them. We're even allowed to express queer joy about theatrical rock performances.

I found a little booklet of drawings I made when I was 5. Each doodle was paired with a name I had learned to write - my brother was a butterfly and my sister a pretty flower. But me? I was, of course, a spooky sheet ghost with truly alarming teeth. In essence I haven't changed much in four decades

Hopefully not, but I don't think I'd be alive and more or less in the same shape as 3 decades ago. Sleep is really weird though, my guess is in my case my neurotransmitters are all kinds of borked and there's probably something wrong with my hypothalamus and/or pineal gland (that runs in the family)

Yeah, thank fuck they're not more efficient at spreading. But they're so hard to destroy and it really weirds me out that you don't even have to catch them through transmission, a random normal protein in my brain could just accidentally go wonky on any given day and I'd be done for 😨

In any case the doctors have tried everything that narcoleptic patients would be treated with and nothing helped. So I just have to hope I don't die in a house fire I started by cooking in my sleep or something. And I only play videogames where I can't fuck up the whole playthrough by sleep-gaming.

This has been a rant brought to you by the fact that after 3 decades my sleep disorder still has no name and there has never been a treatment plan that actually worked. It's not officially narcolepsy because my EEGs were "too weird to interpret" and spinal tap results were inconclusive. 🤷

I've had to check my call log after a nap, in case there's activity I don't remember. I'll then have to call those people back and ask what we discussed because they might be completely unaware they were talking to a sleeping person. I might not have seemed off at all, even my mom can't always tell.

I've blinked and suddenly I'm on the other side of a crosswalk, so I must have dozed off long enough to cross a busy street. I've nodded off while playing a videogame, and when I wake up I'm in an entirely different part of the game because apparently I can play videogames in my sleep.

The most annoying symptom of my severe sleep disorder is automatic behaviour. That is to say I might be writing this in my sleep and you'd never know. I once almost convinced a nurse I was awake by having a conversation with her, but when she checked the EEG I was hooked up to I was in stage 2 sleep

They're from the Finnish Christmas decoration brand Weiste, they make the prettiest things. I get myself one of their fancy baubles each year, and I can't leave any of them off the tree so eventually it'll just collapse under the weight, I guess 😅

Tabletop Halloween is now sadly gone, chased away by the dreaded Christmassaurus as foretold by legend

Also my asthma is so much worse now, hopefully it's just a temporary flare as I'm having to take six different meds and somehow it's still not helping much. So ta very much Finnish government for restricting people's access to covid vaccines, I definitely wasn't chronically ill enough already

Hullo. I aten't dead. I caught covid two days before my next vaccine booster shot, and then I had covid for like a month. Had to keep going to the doctors to monitor that it wasn't turning into pneumonia. It didn't, but looks like it's turning into long covid as well as a fun new vascular disorder 💀

I'm not around much, I need to keep my brain wrapped in fluff to survive and that's incredibly hard to do while being online. Both my parents are in frail health so I've been caring for them while having severe nerve pain myself, and also I have blind spots in my eyes pretty much all the time now 😑
