I have never once encountered a hacker in any fighting game I have played, and if I did, I would simply not rematch them. A fighting game does absolutely not need kernel level anti-cheat (nor do I think any game does).

I love it when games have Easy Anti-Cheat and they don't work on Linux because of it. It's even more fun when they don't need anti-cheat in the first place, they just have it in for fun, to fuck with users. I'm mad today

I hate Sony. I am not going to buy any game with the Playstation Network data collection scheme on it. I also think locking games out of countries due to some policy is insane. Also if you look at a map of the countries that get locked out of PSN games, it REALLY paints a picture

Got really carried away making my Pentiment layoff protest sign for the Irvine CWA rally outside Obsidian offices today 🥹 it was so nice to meet folks from more Microsoft units. You all put so much heart and passion and craft into making video games. You all deserve so much better.

I don't really like the FG controller discourse, but I do want to say that fight sticks are fucking awesome. I recently got my first fight stick (previously I used leverless), and these things are so cool and comfy. It truly feels like the natural way to play fighting games

It will never stop being funny to me that the street fighter subreddit has a much better, well reasoned ai policy vis a vis literally all universities.

Our stance on all AI generated content (Images, Video, Voiceovers, and whatever else LLM based AI gets up to in the future):

At best, they are approximations of street fighter characters as the AI has no clue what it is trying to create. Because of this, there is no street fighter content so they are not allowed. (rule 1)

Also, they aren't allowed per our source rule. As AI sources cannot be tracked, we must assume that they use uncredited sources in the learning data. (rule 5)

Finally, AI images, video, text, and voiceovers are barely any different than posting a screenshot of a google search. The level of effort is so low that we consider it spam (rule 3).

Because of these reasons, AI art and other AI content is not allowed.

new 2XKO characters looks so cool, I'm sad the game has the Riot spyware anti-cheat. Why does a fighting game even need an anti-cheat, like seriously? As a game genre played at such a micro level, surely you can recognize like 90% of cheaters from just looking at a replay.
