E @eeker.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Hi Suella, it looks like your having trouble with your identity. There are many options, but can I suggest you at least look at the one marked “British Asian”. It’s more concise that your suggestion 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Katya is great, but journalistic normalities are skewing accuracy 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 21/09/2026In Badly Drawn Boy’s height, I saw him at Leeds and he had interval support by Peter Kay. It was about 2001 so was great, and worked so well. Music and comedy have been bedfellows for me for so long, hence my love of artists like the Kinks, Housemartins and Half Man Half Biscuit. That wry gaze 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Never agreed with an article so much. Especially the crux: “I don’t mean that you personally like it, I don’t care. You’re allowed for it not to be for you. That’s why comedy as an art form is great.” “It’s A Good Thing that it’s here. Because someone has spent a shitload on a sketch show.” 100
E @eeker.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Instagram’s FYP is a no-go to me. As someone who’s married to a British Asian, it’s taken that and run with it to ugly ends. I’ve also noticed an increase in political content there’s no way I have an interest in. There’s still some good stuff, but it’s the same few accounts mixed with horrors 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I hear the naysayers say nay about the Žižkov tower and how it has no connection to a Carla Lane sitcom. So, have at this, sayers who say nay… #sitcom #carlalane #comedy #prague 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 21/09/2026It’s absolutely for them to sing about societal issues. And a good tradition of it too - from the folk songs of, erm, ‘old’ to Guthrie, Simone, Dylan, Young, the Specials, Bragg, RATM, Green Day, Idles, Goat Girl and countless others. Challenging issues has always been central to a section of music 050
E @eeker.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Have you been to the new Lucius yet on Micklegate? It’s the one that used to be an amazing… bookshop. Can’t remember its original name but I bought a few things from there. My favourite was A Wayfarer in Hungary, a 1925 travelogue by an Irish priest. Great read. Bloody useless now though. 220
E @eeker.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Lovely moment in Nürnburg, where I nearly found friends, until I said “ich bin englischer”. “Oh, ok. Enjoy your beer” Said with amazing disappointment. I’m also sat on a stage. When do I express my knowledge of German numbers by doing a @realdomjoly.bsky.social style poem? I’m in Prague tomorrow… 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I’ll be making my first tentative steps into Sweden next month. I’m pleased it’ll be a slightly more tolerant society. But please tell me what to expect in Lund 010
E @eeker.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Enjoyed my single compartment from Brussels to Prague last year. Except when I unexpectedly had to share with four others. It’s a great idea but I hope they’re sorting out last year’s issues 001
E @eeker.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Some great stuff on at Reading/Leeds (eg Geese) but I’ve figured out why I’m nonplussed by a lot of it. When there were grassroots venues by the score (Adelphi in Hull, Fibbers in York, Charlotte in Leicester etc), bands like this were commonplace. Now they’re on a festival stage already. 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I realise that’s not the first time it’s been said. Nor is it radical. But it needs to be hastened. 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 30/08/2026We need to re-energise the arts. Make it more grassroots and authentic. I don’t really care where people honed their craft but I’d love to hear more stories of acts developing a local scene after meeting at school. Broaden the spectrum and influences. Create more variety in music and the arts. 100

E @eeker.bsky.social · 20/08/2026House renovation shows empathising with people who’ve had a kid while renovating a house. Would they sympathise with someone who went to the pub every night and felt shite? Both personal choices that impinge on your ability to renovate a house. No one is forcing you to do either, hopefully. 000

E @eeker.bsky.social · 14/08/2026How must it feel for a thin-skinned egotist to know that 10,000 people actively voted for a guy dressed as a bin? “Hey, I’m twice as popular as a guy dressed as a bin” isn’t quite the positioning of someone who thinks they should be PM. #clacton #farage 083

E @eeker.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Goodnight Sweetheart but set in different eras. I’d like to see Gary Sparrow at the dawn of man. Really accelerating humankind by teaching them how to make fire and all about agriculture and irrigation. Then seeing the effect it’d have on our time. But he’d probably just try to get his end away. 000
E @eeker.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Growing up reading my dad’s Nigel Rees Graffiti books has given me a lifelong enjoyment of toilet scrawls.
