When I feel discouraged about all the work, my house needs, I just walk up my stairs and look out the window halfway up the staircase and the sight of the house next-door puts it all in perspective. I guess.

Well, the lady in customer service at my student loan servicer agreed with me that the current administration is trying to destroy education AND that financial aid is designed to transfer money to banks and not help people. She was helpful and very compassionate, which is rare these days.

What always pisses me off is that one of the few remaining buildings (or only one?) is now used as a haunted house at Halloween. Having to see the billboards each year... The "hauntedness" is based on the torture of mentally ill patients. Fun. And great way to make money, right?

I saw this video (love the channel)...and then watched one about the local institution, Eloise, where I've been told my 2nd great-grandfather died, and that was more horrific. Eloise started as a sort of poor house, then sanitarium (yes, TB) & became a mental assylum. 1/2

At our favorite frozen custard spot, a friend & I sat on the back of her car facing traffic. She finished her cone, & said, "That hit the spot." But that's not what I heard. I heard, "I hate that f***er!" Both are things she might say...but context matters. At least I had the sense to say, "What?"

Google is usually your friend, but sometimes it's a weird friend. Looking for local places to buy aminopyralid*; it recommended a Pet Supplies Plus, a few cannabis dispensaries, a "Magic Crystal Health & Wellness," & a garden shop one reviewer called a "nice location for an after funeral dinner."

The first time I had one, I had just gotten up to go to class (I was in college) so I just went back to bed. (To be fair, it was an optic / silent migraine, so no pain involved.) As I get old(er), I'm trying to learn to actually think about going to the doctor for stuff.
