Google started showing this little cute trophies at the bottom of the search, what I assume are Oscar nominees and award winning movies. It does not show one for The Secret Agent, 4 time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner. which is the best of the nominees this year. You should watch.

Ultra Wide Quad HD 21:9 monitors are not 21:9 but 43:18. So when you want to make a backdrop that will support 16:9 (most things), 16:10 (Mac and Steamdeck), and UWQHD it needs to be 43:18. Couldn't find a ref, had to create my own. Corrections appreciated. Where my UI designers at? #ui #indiedev

This is a problem when you want to use AlphaComposite in #unreal You want that color information to be 0 at that point. Otherwise you have to multiply the RGB by the Alpha before setting it as base color, which I'm pretty sure defeats the purpose of using that blend mode in the first place.

So an artist create selection then uses the brush tool freely to pain only inside the selection, but has no idea that the color information is actually being baked into the transparent pixels.

When you create a selection in photoshop and paint it with a gradient, it will actually paint the gradient to the entire BOUNDS of the selection, and it will assign Alpha 0 to anything outside of the selection, so the color information looks like this when imported into unreal.

It's interesting how this "garbage" is created in the first place. The reason (explained in the post) is that photoshop will assign White as color information to any pixels that are fully transparent. So far so good. BUT....

There is a way to recover that invisible color information. If you select the transparent PNG layer, and go to Layer > Layer Mask > From Transparency Then select the layer properties and set its density to 0% You can then recover that information. BAM there it is.

I don't know if this is correct but in Amazing Spider-Man 2, I think just before Spidey says "What'd you got for me today New York" he is making the web "thwip" and swish sounds with his mouth (in addition to the actual sfx). Right around 2:14 Anyone can confirm? #spiderman
