1972. Picket for the ILGWU. Stood outside stores asking shoppers to boycott Farah pants. They lent us to the Teamsters to picket the bus terminal where drivers were on strike. We could block buses for 1 minute by court order. At 58 seconds they would gun the engine and we would run. $2.75 an hour.

Von Ryan’s Express. Great book. Tall, blond, aryan-looking Ryan is hated by fellow POWs who dub him “von Ryan” for collaborating. But he earns respect. They pull him onto their escape train at the end. Faithful movie, but - they cast Sinatra. He dies at the end. I screamed “WHAT?!” in the theater.

Great! Hope you liked it. I was the guy out front with a bullhorn, hawking the crowds to go inside. I also rang the replica Liberty Bell every hour, and sang the occasional song. Still keep in touch the other actors. I must be in so many tourist photos but I’ve never seen one.
