What would economic development look like if resident well-being and equity were primary goals, not aspirational after-effects of growth? In a new @edqjournal.bsky.social article, Associate Director for Equity and Opportunity Haegi Kwon presents a framework to do exactly that.
Screenshot of the Economic Development Quarterly website showing an open-access article. A dark blue header bar displays the journal name “Economic Development Quarterly.” Below, a line of metadata reads: “Impact Factor: 1.6 / 5-Year Impact Factor: 1.7,” a “Journal Homepage” button on the right, and a link labeled “Request permissions.” The article is labeled “Article commentary” and “First published online October 28, 2025.” Title: “Looking in, Leveraging, and Locking: An Asset-Based Framework for Economic Development Policy and Practice.” Author: Haegi Kwon, with a link to “View all authors and affiliations.” Badges indicate Open Access and Creative Commons licensing. Additional labels include “OnlineFirst.” The DOI shown at the bottom is “https://doi.org/10.1177/08912424251378116.” The page background is white with simple black and gray text.
