I think that we may have overdone it in STEM and “gifted” education. The result being a tech sector that appears to be run by a bunch of egotistical know-it-alls who have zero appreciation for - and understanding of - history, philosophy, art, and ethics. Or labor of any kind.

I had a very similar experience with a Virgin flight from Boston to London. Engine failure. After 10 hours in the air, we landed in New York LaGuardia. A disaster of customer support - limited comms, deliberate lies, and hostile staff for the next 30 hours. Never flying them again.

Watching Croatia vs. Panama game. I'm in Hungary, so I can't understand a lick of the commentator's patter. The names are easy to pick out, but every now and then he says "black man" quite distinctly. Brain seizes up. Had to check - and there is a Panama player named Blackman. Whew.

There is a case to be made that with war, the ends may justify the means. They almost never do, but it’s occasionally a valid question. But if you don’t achieve those ends, or even know what they were… justice would be terrible to behold.
