These random AI anecdotes are so dumb. I’m sure he’s using Grok (if you knew ANYTHING about AI you’d know how implausible this story is. Nobody uses Grok.

An absolutely brutal two weeks of polls for Trump. Not on here is ARG, which had him at 30%. No president has been THIS unpopular in the past two decades. There is a very real chance that Trump could fall into the 20s by the midterms. And the only thing saving the GOP is a feckless DNC.

This quote is exactly why external review is necessary, Sam - you're one of the worst offenders of using AI in less than honest ways
“We don’t believe this kind of government access process should become the long-term default,” OpenAI wrote about the current, ad-hoc safety vetting approach in its GPT-5.6 blog post. “It keeps the best tools from users, developers, enterprises, cyber defenders, and global partners who need them.”

This paragraph just sent chills through me. Not because of the AI regulation pro or con, but the absolute sea change in GOP thought. The base itself is no longer conservative. It's now authoritarian, and government intervention in AI is NOT where this ends, folks. www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-ne...
The poll, conducted by Washington, D.C.-based AI Policy Institute (AIPI), a non-partisan research organization, found that Republicans were more enthusiastic about government-led safety testing for AI models than Democrats, though more than half of voters supported such a measure regardless of their political affiliation.

Tuesday's results scared the Republican Party, too. www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
And a third House Republican who represents a district Trump won handily in 2024 warned about the potential consequences for November. “I’m not that safe. No incumbent is safe,” the lawmaker wrote. “People are pissed off that we are not taking care of business.”

The NYC DSA, even during the anti-electoral period of the Biden years, like Pittsburgh, is well-organized. Kind of surprising but heartening to see that they held *TWO* emergency meetings when data wasn't looking good. NY-13 may be a race because of that.
But young, far-left voters — key to Mamdani’s winning coalition — were slow to mobilize during early voting, prompting the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America to hold two emergency meetings last week, said Gustavo Gordillo, the group co-chair.

“The early voting data showed that younger voters — voters under 50, voters under 45 — were not turning out to vote in the numbers that we had seen last year,” he told MS NOW of youth vote turnout through Wednesday. “It was nowhere close to where we wanted to be,” he continued, adding that those numbers rose over the weekend and casting youth turnout as “a core part of our strategy.”

Can't say I expected this... a Tornado Watch might be in the cards for central and portions of Eastern PA tonight.
Radar of western pennsylvania showing a line of severe and tornadic thunstorms, with at least a half dozen tornado warnings across NW PA.

Guys I need design opinions. Would it be cheap looking to throw a weather station into this hero? (I am working on some of the other obviously horrid design choices, this is early) I feel like adding weather in from OUR station worked, but it's still not landing completely.

This Railway fix looks like it is going to take hours to resolve. And to be honest, this requires a hell of a lot more explanation than what is in the status log. To have your entire infrastructure dependent on a single provider is carelessness.

One of the benefits in statefulness in AI, is each analysis builds on each other. Hal's figuring out on its own that our odd 500 errors (which seem to be a plugin) aren't the issue, it's the fact we're just now starting to get traffic

Well, Hal is talking, but hallucinating tool calls. This was this morning, though, and there were more issues with system prompting than anything. I am actually surprised how well some of Hal's parts have been working ahead of the harness. I'm actually doing more fine-tuning than bug squashing.

Even the normally Trump-friendly Nate Silver polling average is showing why Trump wants to end this as quickly as possible: as soon as the polling started to include the war in total and people had a chance to digest, his numbers tanked. 34% ARG. 36% Reuters. Even Rasmussen is below 45%.
Graph of Donald Trump's polling from early 2025 onwards. Highlighted is March 14, when DJT's disapproval took a noticeable swing upward to the highest point in his second term, 56.7%, with an average 40% approval.

Idk, maybe comments like this might explain why Talarico won Latinos 2-to-1....
Talarico’s opponent, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, said in 2024 that Latino voters who held conservative positions on immigration had a “slave mentality.” It was a classic example of the misguided assumption that racial minorities should be viewed as predictable single-issue voters, although articulated in an unusually vulgar and offensive way. Crockett came under fire for those remarks, and it’s possible she alienated some voters.

Ed Oswald @edoswald.bsky.social · 06/03/2026
Not hard, in Texas, where Latinos are the second largest voting bloc, idk, speak to them? Like there is no new playbook needed at all, you need to run a statewide campaign when you run a statewide race. Visiting a farm once isn't enough. Showing up on the border. You represent EVERYONE not one bloc.

Massive variation in snowfall totals across SE PA. Where it hasnt snowed hard, 3" or even less.. but in some places especially near philly, they're already surpassing 10". Wondering how far inland that band through Philly pivots. Going to be a close call for Lancaster and Reading.

No, again AI isn’t ChatGPT, AI was already substantial prior to ChatGPT. It’s already huge. You are literally lying to people which is no better than the industry. Please stop speaking out of both sides of your mouth, because your PR firm is representing AI companies! AI is not going to collapse.

Why I can't take Ed seriously -- there is more to LLMs than ChatGPT. Maybe if he would actually you know, not be secretly promoting AI companies while simulatenously acting like an AI skeptic on here, maybe it would be a little more credible.

This is not a sign of a stable market, for sure. Anecdotally, I've heard from friends within the business that car sales, normally slow during ahead of the end of the year sales, are even slower. Dealers have far more inventory than they should at this time of year, and that's a problem in 2026.

Guys, no. You do not show all your damn cards in the first salvo. You build a case. This is not a Benghazi hearing. We are backing them into a corner, and it doesn't happen overnight. A particular segment of the left doesn't understand that you must play the game first.
