@sundaedivine.lol Isaias found one of only zones this year not dominated by record strong El Nino wind shear.A case of bad luck. After becoming a formidable hurricane in northeast Gulf of Mexico(pic shows it at its peak),it ran into a wall of shear on the Fla panhandle & weakened to cat 2 on landfall

@shelbykstewart.bsky.social At 3:15 AM PT(worth recording),TCM has "Village of the Damned".Title suggests "horror" but this gem is pure scifi. Is tale of a little English village,in which everyone falls asleep at same time. When they awaken,"something" has changed. Unsettling, engrossing, superbly acted

@sundaedivine.lol The creepy, engrossing "Village of the Damned" is on TCM at 6:15 AM ET. Is well worth recording. Is the tale of a sleepy English village,in which the residents inexplicably all fall to sleep. When they awaken,"something" has changed... Unsettling, atmospheric little gem.Superbly acted

Edward @edoreilly.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Such a chilling scene...The wind, color, cinematography. And Cheney's acting. Chaney could project such emotion, even thru layers of makeup. Not many performers could do that. Charles Laughton was another actor who could do this... #tcmparty #phantomoftheopera.

@cinewolf.bsky.social @dc5fanmary.bsky.social Famously, this was another instance of a studio tacking on a ridiculous "happy ending". Orson Welles' "Magnificent Ambersons" was perhaps the worst ever example of this. If only the last shot of "Invasion" had been this one....Oh well...😞 #BMovieManiacs

Edward @edoreilly.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Nolo is pic on the left.Hawaii is really taking it on the chin this year.Nolo's eye should stay offshore but hurricane force winds over elevated areas & severe flooding plus damaging waves will still result. Polo(pic on right) is still a cat 5.Will make landfall in southern Baja peninsula on Monday
