Thank you for the photo of the Daymark, Tom. I am reading Ring the Hill at the moment and very much enjoying it. I wrote about the Daymark too (no link in bio but there is a pinned photo on my account). I've got your short stories on order from @biggreenbooks.bsky.social and looking forward to those

Was the 'outfit of the day' something in fire retardant orange, perhaps with a tabard to top it off?

Oh, thank you! I just decided it got lost in the post and never did anything about it, what with you being a small business.

I agree. My daughter was in tears this morning having planned her solo trip to Valencia.

She slid the last book in and shut the box. It wasn’t easy, but it had to be done. She would, she knew, carry images and threads and meanings from the stories with her. Handing the box over came with a welcome sense of lightness. She turned to the racks behind her to see what was new in. #WriteCBC

hello @argentology.bsky.social ! I have received my book too! When do you plan to open yours? I will probably open mine on a whim and probably before the 25th, so I will wait to hear from you as to your initial thoughts about the title. It's lovely to meet you too!

Is it the one by the Goodies? We are quite local to Marsh Gibbon and I have never thought of that song (although now I will). Going through Cricklewood is another matter entirely (also Goodies, but perhaps you had to have the album).

"He'll be cold." Liz closed the curtains on the snowy scene. "He won't. He's got my hat," Sam said. "And my scarf." Liz filled a bowl with cat food and left it by the shed where she had seen the hedgehog's nose. On the way back in she fixed the snowman's cap. Did he need Sam's gloves too? #WriteCBC

I'm giving away this signed 1st edition h/b of my new novel (it has a tiny jacket rip which means I wouldn't sell it) to one person who reposts this. You might like it if you like: Folkloric creatures Old records Intricate psychedelic stories The idea of circular time All shares much-appreciated.

But Moto3 (and Red Bull Rookies) produce the most exciting races and fans follow their favourites through from these classes. Paddock changes won't make a difference to this but the increased focus on the Premier class is disappointing and with potentially big consequences.

Sam sat on the one free bench, which was wet. The wind whipped down the platform taking with it the cheerful tannoy voice apologising for the inconvenience. Sam shrugged. He had plenty of time. And if the interview went well perhaps one day he could be that voice. He crossed his fingers. #WriteCBC

Vi smelt cabbage first. Cabbage, then weed. An odd combo. Three plaster ducks flew across the wall whilst a pair of boxfresh Nikes stood below. Maybe spring greens and duck decs were hip now. By the shoes were a pile of textbooks she recognised. Ah, an OU student: contrarian to the last. #WriteCBC

A figure appeared behind Ella, then many more. They lined up sheepishly and took an uneven bow. The audience clapped. Parents were in tears. Later, as one boy appeared from backstage, his mum grabbed him and held him close. ‘Best special effects ever,’ she whispered into his hair. #5ActFestiveStory

But it was too late. At once, the back and the front doors both blew open and a swirling white wind whistled through, upsetting ornaments and freezing Ella’s nose. When it had gone she saw something left behind on the rug. She bent down towards it. ‘Don’t touch him' her mum cried. #5ActFestiveStory
