Finished reading Other World’s Than These by @stephenking.bsky.social. I loved going back to Mid World one more time. And very much wouldn’t mind seeing that universe again.

My poor wife has to deal with me shouting Stephen King references at the TV while watching Carrie.

I will tell you I have never voted for her, never considered voting for her, and think she is an embarrassment to the state and the nation. She is reprehensible. And the bugger is, I still expect her to win.

That story got a legitimate emotional reaction from me. That’s the highest praise I can give anything.

Rewatching Star Trek: Picard season 2 is rough. It’s the most COVID show I can think of that came out during that time. Almost every scene is just two actors standing 6 feet apart.

This isn’t a you thing, it’s an overall media thing. I find it so bizarre how little Hauser is being talked about. I get that he’s not a flashy player, or someone on the rise, but he’s had an important role. I imagine he’s going to be a starter, but nobody is bringing his name up.

PainStrike. Sounds like a lower tier character that disappeared after maybe 5 issues.

I read the first two issues of Bride of Frankenstein Lives by @kellythompson.bsky.social and @mattiadeiulis.bsky.social. Takes place minutes after the movie ends and has a cool, original story, that works perfectly as a sequel. I love these movies and can’t wait to read the rest. FOC is this Monday!

Truly excellent season finale for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. It really makes me wish the Year One show was going to happen.

I bought a fake Buffy prop. Not proud of that, but it happened. Since then, I’ve turned it into a signature book for people involved with the show or the comics. This weekend, I asked @beckycloonan.bsky.social to sign it. She instead took the time to make a Spike sketch. Highlight of the con.

Hey,Buffy and Angel comics fans! Artist Rebekah Isaacs has a new series out, Prima Apparata. I always want to support creatives that put out books that meant something to me. Issue #1 is on the stands now and I think it’s some of her best work.

Star Trek is a foundational franchise for me. I’ve loved it forever. But Jonathan Frakes going “Whoa, great beard” when I met him is a high. Thanks, Beard Daddy. Game recognizes game.

How long did it take you to think this was the best? I agree, and have plenty of love for other movies. But I probably resisted that opinion for a little bit just because it was the new one and wanted to avoid recency bias.

People are upset about the puppet episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds? Ridiculous. Learn how to have some fun! My only gripe is the end where they chickened out of the whole scenario.

Big week for Carol Kane on TV. Her head fell off, she got shot out of a canon, turned into a puppet, and cut in half. It was split between It’s Always Sunny and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, but that is one hell of a week.

This week’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has the crew going to an alien planet that’s inspired by 1940s Earth. I guess we’ll call it an homage to Jack Kirby, or just liberally taking from his idea.

Apologies, but this week's podcast is running late. Jarod had a work retreat, so we had to record a day later than normal. It's recorded and about twice as long as a normal one. I hate falling behind on our schedule, but I will have this up as soon as I can.

What kind of native New Yorker is living off Little Caesar’s cardboard pizza? What deal did they make to have it shown about 6 times in the first four minutes of Spider-Man: Terrible Taste in Pizza? There’s no truth in this art!

I’ve coincidentally been on a Godzilla kick recently, and I loved Horror of Godzilla #1 by @ethansparker.bsky.social & @grifsheridan.bsky.social. It has such a fun, dark, messed up tone I really clicked with. @tristansbones.bsky.social art is fantastic, every panel of Godzilla is so menacing.
