Visiting DC and came to see this quote at the Jefferson Memorial. I had seen it online once, it resonated with me then, but it especially resonates today as we see the system under obvious strain. Glad for an opportunity to see it in person.

Working on the seasoning to our wok this morning. Between the hammered carbon steel and the strokes of seasoning oil, it looks like a rustic painting!

The actual weights are nice—heavier than expected, and I like that they don’t take up much room in my tiny apartment/kitchen. While the weights themselves are very flat and nicely machined, and the handles nestle into each other, the bases float a bit above each other…admittedly, very slight nit.

I was gonna make a mango lassi, but I waited too long and the mangoes went bad. Instead, have a “mango lassie!”

Spent the morning at Sea Life Park, a new experience for the kids! The displays were a big success, letting the kids get up close and personal with a bunch of interesting creatures.

A fellow /r/Hawaii mod and SWE’s 8 year old has requested a gaming rig for Christmas. Instead of a 40XX-based machine, I’m trying to convince him to get an rPi 5 and a copy of “Code the Classics.” It can technically do 4k gaming! (He may put this under the tree then unveil the PC after 😂)

It's silly, but I just wrote this internal white paper for my company and I'm just so proud of it. I feel like it's a culmination of all my previous experiences brought together into a little four-page strategy doc that I'm not sure anyone else in the company could have written. Feeling good.
