There are a lot of October season movies I want to see like, The Devil's Backbone, The Hunger, and In the Company of Wolves but none of those are weeknight movies. Cemetery Man might've been but I opted to not watch that tonight.

Most dreams I have are super weird if not bad (and those aren't even the nightmares) but last night I had a dream Gillian Anderson wanted to be my best friend and I was disappointed when I woke up.

I made soup yesterday and froze most of it. I made chili today and same (that was the intention). I also did laundry. If I do nothing else this week, I think that's pretty good.

I would really love to love Nobuhiko Obayashi's House. It's something I want to! I started it but it freaked me out too much. Not because I was scared, exactly, just because it felt like nightmares I have and it was just weird seeing those in a movie.

I may watch Mike Flannagan's Carrie because I'm me. I'm mixed on his work overall, though. I like adaptations of Carrie but the problem is the source material. It's ... not great. But also if you try to update it, you fundamentally destroy the story.

I'm not fully vibing with this series of Taskmaster. I like Chloe and I like Nina (although I wish Nina was better at the prize task and wasn't just trying to unload old puppets/props). I absolutely understand not every series is going to land. I'm still watching.

I woke up feeling terrible in a really ill-defined way, told work I would not be in, promptly slept for another 5 hours. I never felt that great but I did have my vague afternoon rally, which I always have when I'm sick. This feels more like pre-sickness than anything "official."

I've only been up for about 40 minutes and I feel like today is going to be rough. I do have groceries coming, though (ordered last night) -- I did some actual meal planning! -- and I managed to get the dishwasher loaded and started. So if that's all the productivity for the day, that's OK.

I love this woman and I think about her often. I'm a big fan of the idea that the bathroom is the place to just go weird, honestly, and it was just a half-bath in a basement in any case. It's delightful.

Happy birthday, Jim Henson. Like everyone, he taught me about being creative and following your own vision. He wasn't perfect but he's someone who influenced my life in so many ways. (You can go to that statue at the University of Maryland. It's fun. I recommend it.)

Woke up to a credit card fraud alert on my phone (it was caught and didn't go through). Card has been canceled and a new one is coming. I had just gotten a replacement card (the old one was expiring) and when I was mailing the old one back, I thought "this doesn't feel safe."

I think spritzes are going to be the next trendy cocktail. I know no one is drinking anymore (or something) but they're lower in alcohol and make you feel fancy. I have seen them popping up on menus more and more, though, honestly.

Despite the fact I told my friend that anytime you buy alcohol thinking it's going to be "funny" to drink that, it's 100% not going to be funny, he bought two Buzz Balls. We tried the grape one and it was terrible. We dumped it. He left me with a blue raspberry one and it was less terrible.

I read a stat today that only about 4% of adults have ADHD, but I suspect that's only people with an official diagnosis. And not people like me who are like "I've lived 46 years like this. I don't need to spend $300 for something I already know."

As much as my inner 19-year-old self is still like "you mean, you press buttons on this remote and anime magically appears on your TV at any time???" I think she'd also like you can push some buttons and have French fries show up within like 20 minutes (those cost money, but girl, we can afford it.)
