I've just about gotten over last night. Given how badly France played and how cowardly England were can we just skip the 3rd place playoff and give 3rd place to #CaboVerde - the only team to give the finalists any difficulty #WorldCup2026

And while I'm promoting our ex PhD students' work - truly amazing paper from @jean-rintoul.bsky.social demonstrating that ultrasound can be used to monitor neural activity. Could be a brand new use case for #tFUS #ultrasound #neuroskyence

Really exciting work by a bunch of our PhDs and post-docs! TI stimulation within the theta-band increases neurogenesis in the hippocampus. Huge implications for neurodegeneration and a whole new perspective on brain stimulation. Full paper here: advanced.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non-invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta-band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell di...

My co-authors have yet to move to Bluesky, so I'm pleased to announce our latest work has just been published in @nature.com Neuroscience. Amazing work led by Junheng Li, revealing that falling asleep follows a predictable bifurcation pattern #neuroskyence #sleep www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Falling asleep follows a predictable bifurcation dynamic - Nature Neuroscience
Li et al. propose a conceptual framework to study the phenomenon of falling asleep based on electroencephalogram data. They show that a tipping point marks the brain’s nonlinear wake-to-sleep transiti...

Good time for my first post here. I'm at #BrainStimConf in Kobe, Japan. Anyone interested in learning more about temporal interference should attend symposium 1.B. this afternoon. I'll be giving two talks! One about using TI as a therapy for Alzheimer's and a second about combining TI with EEG

At the International Brain Stimulation Conference in Kobe, Japan. Amazing plenary talk by Marom Bikson. TDCS-like devices made from (manufacturable) printing of passive devices. Basically active bandaids that can do brain stimulation, electric wound healing, etc. Very impressive.
