With a flick of a wrist, a STUN-GUN CABLE WHIP WRAPS AROUND VAL'S ANKLE—

She shrieks, and stumbles back with the STATIC C-C-CRACK as the cable is electrified.

Val drops to the grimy cement floor.

VAL
What's the deal? All this for curfew?

One of the cops rolls Val face-down with his boot.

SUBSURFACE POLICE

I think we lost something as television moved away from weekly serialized drama. Being able to speculate, and talk about theories with friends and coworkers, or just online was part of the draw. Now we just do that with news events. Only people believe the conspiracy, and there are consequences.

I started this lil thread to mention my newest hobby, but I guess I had a mini breakdown and got sidetracked. Recently, to get away from screens, but keep the noise up in my head, I got into whittling. I get to make something (which feels productive, but isn't), and not think (yay). Look at my junk!

A little whittled Jigglypuff, which whittling knives for scale.

Lil basswood Jigglypuff is all painted up. The paint sure brings out all the shitty knife work that I told myself was "stylized". Who needs sandpaper? (Me. I do.)

An unusually pissed looking Caterpie with a fat ass, and a plucked Butterfree (don't worry, I have plans to make him whole).
Both carved from 2x2x4" basswood.
