eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Correction to self, separation is only 14.4 so worse than I remembered. 000
eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Not a Passivhaus here but a near EnerPHit retrofit. I tested the heat-pump-in-reverse yesterday. Think it knocked about 1 degree off the kitchen temperature via the underfloor ‘heating’. Impressed by your 22degC on yesterday’s webinar! 000
eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Hey Passivhaus experts, should I try and achieve EnerPHit? Currently airtightness 1.77 ach-1, heat demand 26kWh/m2 @21C, air leaks from roof OSB (remove wood fibre, paint airtight from inside, reinstall ?), garage door (make gge airtight instead), Internorm front door. What is the benefit? 213

eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 28/11/2025Is there a decent heat pump engineer who can solve a problem? My heat demand is 3.016kW, the Samsung heat pump is nominal 8kW, yet even at a flow temp of 30-35C for heat I get an annual SCOP of around 2.5. Why so low? The HW demand is 29% of the total heating demand and is set at 47.5C. No legions. 130
eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 26/09/2025I agree. HKD Energy funded a new air to air heating system at Southwater Church Room - which is now loads more comfortable. The old night storage heaters can be chucked out. 010

eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 30/06/2025Since the RdSAP 10 regime was adopted on 15th June, homes with heat pumps and heat recovery ventilation can now get a sensible rating. Why A99 not A100 in this case? Didn’t want to litter the roof with higgledy piggledy solar panels 000
eco Nick @econick.bsky.social · 31/08/2024Not at all - take this central window on a 70s retrofit. The room inside is dark, needs max light. But at certain times the southern sun is blinding. External blinds on a triple glazed window sort this problem perfectly - and room stays < 25C when it’s 34C outside. Brise soleils would be silly here. 010
