Boreal wildfires across North America and Siberia continued as the number of fire detections, enhanced by El Niño, increased in West and Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Seasonal fires in tropical Africa and South America are also clear but are below average.

🌡 August #C3S Climate Bulletin reports that August was the joint-warmest month on record & 1.65°C above the estimated pre-industrial level. Western Europe saw its warmest summer on record, while the average sea surface temperature across the extra-polar ocean was also the joint highest on record. ⬇️
