TW: Blood. Thing I drew back in January, finally got around to posting it. I don't own the character, original is by cho.u_ on Instagram #art #myart #artistsonbluesky #vampires #vampireart #digitalart #clipstudiopaint #clipstudio #csp

A digital painting of a vampire girl. She is wearing a red sweater, has dark pink eyes, and short black hair. She has blood dripping out of her mouth and onto her neck, and she is licking her lips.

I drew this mermaid in Clip Studio Paint (which I bought in late November!) for a DTIYS challenge I found on Pinterest. Lineart and sketch in the QRTs

A digital illustration of a mermaid. She has long, wavy, flowing blonde hair with subtle pink tips. Her tail is darkly colored (blackish/brownish), with a light green tail fin and transparent green fins on her hips. She also has light green fins on her forearms and in place of ears. She is wearing a pink top with ruffles at the bottom and short, transparent, ruffled sleeves. She is wearing a necklace and matching bracelets on each arm made of light grey pearls. Her eyes are closed and her mouth forms a toothy smile.

If you are an artist struggling with a nagging discomfort or pain when you work. Stop. Go and get that shit checked out and start doing recommended, corrective exercises. It will not get better if you just push through. It will get worse and harder to correct. Please take care of yourself.

here's a Hot Art Tip: when drawing, try to take a 5 minute break every hour or so to do something else. rest your eyes, stretch your finger muscles, and try to occupy a different space from your workstation. Avoid social media if possible. I've found those kinds of breaks to be v helpful

All you newbies drawing their first comic and haven't printed their comic before: 300 dpi, CMYK colours, bleed and safety, 0 0 0 100 K black text on a separate layer. Make sure you have all of these on all of your comics files, otherwise you'll end up like me having to fix 660 pages of my webcomic

Normalize inconsistency in your art. Normalize not making every art piece super detailed and intricate. Normalize just creating art for the sake of it.

it's important for anyone, but especially artists to be very vocal, loud, and proud about their stances on human rights/politics. Our work reaches communities, what we create, share & show makes a difference. Art cannot be separated from humanity. Keep making things that showcase the world you want

Keep making art. Keep writing your stories. Even if they must exist in secret for a time, they are important - each of them a little act of rebellion. Most of all, keep on living. If you can muster no other motivation on some days, then do it out of righteous spite for those who want you gone.

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore." I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT. We win by living our lives as loudly and truly as we can. That includes your "silly" art project.

Stop agonizing and start drawing. You will: - Uncover your weaknesses (so you can then develop them) - Learn when you make mistakes, you're safe (and can make more) - Realize just how capable you are - Build confidence It is that easy. The hardest part is starting.

Reminder: This website does not have an algorithm, reposting yourself several times so that people in different time zones can see your posts is encouraged and the norm. It is totally fine to boost your own stuff here. Anyone who tries to make you feel weird about it- does not understand Bluesky. ✨

There's one thing that I'm trying to unlearn as an artist: that every new piece needs to be better/more successful than the last. For so long I've avoided even considering my past body of work because it wasn't "relevant" anymore, thinking myself a failure because I didn't manage to replicate it 🧵

in comics it doesnt matter how skilled you are at art, there will ALWAYS be difficult pages or you'll be drawing something for the first time and it'll be ugly to you. So. Don't compare yourself to other comics or hold back from starting cuz you "aren't good enough." You'll never feel good enough
