Had a visitor today while I was cooking supper. It's a red shouldered hawk. About 10" tall. Zoom at the base of the tree to the left. I wonder if that is what it was interested in. Idk if it's a baby deer or a large brown rabbit, since all I can see are ears. That's ambition, either way.

Farms have required grassroots support since 1985 thanks to the rise of govt corporatism, and still so many rural Americans believe they don't need assistance. They support the system that is cutting off their livelihoods. I don't understand it.

Farm Aid website stating that the charity has been standing with family farmers since 1985. It reads "Farm Aid works year-round to build a system of agriculture that values family farmers, good food, soil and water, and strong communities. Our annual music and food festival celebrates farmers, eaters and music coming together for change." Since Reagan fomented the roots of corporatism and deregulation. Since family farms had to become reliant on subsidies to survive, planning their entire budget on what they have been promised, to feed our nation.

That is *precisely* the idea that they have been given since the 80s & the mainstreaming of conspiracy theories. They gave just enough "knowledge" that could be proven factual as to sow a seed of doubt about everything. Now they're elite, being privy to the arcane, growing deeply in that fertile bs.

My first awareness at 10 years old of Sam Neill was as the smoldery anti-Christ, adult Damien Thorn. While he served charisma beyond his years then, over the decades, he displayed range and depth that wasn't a bland variety of Sam Neill just playing Sam Neill like so many actors. What a loss.

The Phoenix was a short-lived 1982 sci-fi tv series about the experiences of Bennu of the Golden Light, an ancient extraterrestrial unearthed from a Peruvian sarcophagus in the 20th century.

It was corny, it was campy and my 10 year old self loved it! Judson Scott, who played Bennu, then went on to be Khan Noonien Singh's second in command (possibly Khan's son?), Joachim, in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.

Disney's Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House album. I loved the Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey & Louie Halloween tale, but the haunted mansion side scared the crap out of me until I turned 6 or 7.

Pat Benetar In the Heat of the Night album. I won it from the local record store by answering a trivia question on the radio. There's a whole lot of GenX jargon in that sentence. 😂
