Yesterday I did my first ever 50km trail run: the Caledon Crusher on the Bruce Trail near Mono, Ontario. The course was challenging (so many climbs!) but the weather was perfect and I had a fun and memorable day. #trailrunning

Today I ran the Falling Water Half Marathon at Beaver Valley, Ontario. Between the wild heat and the steep climbs, it was the toughest foot race I have ever done. I earned that Finisher’s medal (which is also a compass)! #trailrunning

I know that many Canadian academics are avoiding the USA (I struggled with it, too), but I thought it was important to stand in solidarity with Harvard, and it was great to connect with some of the world’s best private law scholars.

I’m in Hong Kong for a conference, and hiked the Dragon’s Back trail to Big Wave Bay. We climbed what felt like a million stairs, and my body was not ready for the humidity. (It was snowing when I left Canada on Monday.) Definitely earned the beer afterward! #hiking

I came to Berkeley for a conference and what I’d hoped would be a nice break from Ontario’s winter weather. Instead I got 4 days of rain. I got out for a hike today anyway. The weather blocked the panoramic view of the Bay Area, but I tried to enjoy the feeling of being among the clouds.
