The Televsion Academy Foundation has a nearly 3 hour long interview with Randy really showcases his ideals and commitment to paramedics. It's well worth the time to watch, as are most of the TAF's interviews. #RandolphMantooth #Emergency #KMG365

“I could be remembered for driving a car that has a name like the General Lee, not that there’s anything wrong with that show. Instead I’m remembered for something that changed emergency medicine, forever. How lucky can any one person be?” - Randolph Mantooth

The impact of Emergency! is amazing. I don't think many people today realize the widespread effect it had at the time.

When the show premiered, there were 12 paramedic units in all of North America. In the next three years, 46 states enacted laws that allowed paramedics to practice emergency medicine. Within 10 years, more than half of all Americans were within 10 minutes of a paramedic rescue or ambulance unit.

Experts say that growth simply would not have occurred without Emergency!

Oh, this is a tough one. He was a good guy. Early in our relationship, my partner bought me an autographed photo of Mr. Mantooth. It's one of my treasured possessions. KMG-365, sir. www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/r...

It seems that there are other non-NASA streams available, but I prefer using the NASA streams as I'm unsure of the provenance of the non-NASA streams. If the NASA streams don't return soon, I'll check into using other sources.

m2ke @eccentric.ity.org · 09/01/2026

Thanks for the heads-up! It looks like the two NASA youtube live streams that this bot uses are not live and haven't been for a few days. One still shows the last 12 hours and the bot keeps pulling the first couple of minutes from that and posting it, which is where the black screen is coming from

Thanks for the heads-up! The list itself seems to be this list but it's hidden. The bot does appear to meet the criteria for being on that list, but I'll see if there's anything to be done. bsky.app/profile/did:...
