Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 01/09/2026RIP Wendell Berry. May we heed your words and your example now more than ever. “People who own the world outright for profit will have to be stopped; by influence, by power, by us.” 020
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Here’s what I got. First time I’ve seen the size-comparative descriptor under either name. 000

Reposted by EricOutspoken™️ @out5p0ken.bsky.social · 26/06/2026On March 26, 2026, during a debate on violence against women in Germany’s Bundestag, left-wing MP Kathrin Gebel was repeatedly interrupted by AfD MP Martin Reichardt. She responded: “Mr. Reichardt, the clitoris has 3,000 nerve endings, and you’re still more sensitive. That’s quite an achievement.” 17974382602
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 15/06/2026I re-read it a few years ago and it really holds up. I have such fond memories of reading that as a kid, along with other classics like Mrs. Frisby & the Rats of NIMH and From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. 030

Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 06/05/2026I second the recommendation for the swivel glider with ottoman. More stable and easier to get into and out of than a standard rocking chairs. And very comfortable. 100

Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I was told there is an “entire literature” that disproves birthright citizenship. Did I miss the discussion of this body of literature or is it being saved for a dramatic reveal? 051
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I missed the sigh but keep hearing what sounds like someone chewing ice. 010
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I had the same thought but it looks like they are suspending the 3-minute seats for today. I wonder how often they do this. 010
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 01/04/2026I put off doing a thing for so long that I had built it up in my head until it was a Thing. In early March, I finally did the Thing. It was not as bad as I expected. In fact, it turned out very well. So if you are waiting for a sign to do the Thing that’s been weighing you down, maybe this is it. 070
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 17/03/2026The good news was that while we built shelters and fires and tried our hand at skiing, we didn’t have to sleep outside. We were safely ensconced in cabins. 110
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 17/03/2026From Northern Michigan (not U.P.), we did a winter survival camp in 5th grade, an overnight to Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village, and Frankenmuth in 6th grade, and a trip to Mackinac Island in 8th grade. Senior trip was normally to D.C. but ours went to Chicago. 222
Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 01/03/2026A brisk day (feels like temp of 9 degrees) for the Minnesota United home opener but we were warmed to see the Andor-inspired tifo and the ICE out banner and warmed even more by the “F**k ICE” chant that started during the moment for Renee Good and Alex Pretti before kickoff. Minnesota: United. 0214

Eric @ecaughlaw.bsky.social · 19/01/2026When we first moved here, it took us about a week to realize that every local news outlet could find a Minnesota connection to every national or regional news story. And we’ve heard the 1991 Blizzard story enough that it almost feels like we actually lived through it ourselves. 030
