I recently watched "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (2021) and the book gets a call out at the very beginning. Fun fact: the future version of Jennifer Love Hewitt is a psychologist specializing in trauma and the second biggest theme in the reboot (after "oh no, we killed a guy!") is also "trauma!"
From the 2021 reboot of "I Know What You Did Last Summer"
"You know bottling up your feeling only makes you sick?""Have you read The Body Keeps the Score?""Danica got it for me. It's fire. You should check it out."

I guess it was an entirely different study, but she highlights the same idea.
Rellini and Meston, like Dr. Richmond, found excessive baseline SNS activity in women who had been traumatically sexually abused.
This dysregulated SNS, they confirmed, affects the women’s later sex lives, since a balanced (not an excessively heightened) SNS is critical to female arousal. Women with a history of sex abuse show higher “baseline” or resting SNS activity, the authors found—confirming the work of other researchers.
In other words, women can get aroused most easily when the SNS is in good working order; and the trauma of rape or child sexual abuse seems to mess with the good balance of the SNS in many women. (It is also interesting to look at this data for many reasons: raped women’s bodies don’t respond the same way to exercise as do nontraumatized women’s bodies. There is a notable weight difference in the subjects of the experiment who did and did not have abuse in their backgrounds; the sexual abuse/PTSD women were on average about thirty pounds heavier than the control group. This difference could certainly be explainable by many factors, but it bears more investigation.)

The Supreme Court has extended this right to undocumented immigrants, holding that they have the same Fourth Amendment protections as US citizens and legal residents. One caveat exists, however – “border search exception.”

This exception allows the government to conduct warrantless searches within a 100-mile radius of any US border, including airports. As a result, undocumented immigrants in this area may be subject to warrantless searches of their persons, homes, and belongings.

"pioneers striking out from Missouri for the wild and dangerous frontier" But how did these white US pioneers get to Missouri in the first place? Whom did they bring with them? Dred Scott was born in Virginia, but he and over 100,000 other enslaved Black Missourians weren't Americans, I guess.
When Louisiana was purchased in 1803, 2,000–3,000 slaves were within the limits of what is now Missouri, of which only the eastern and southern portions were then settled. By 1860 the Black population comprised 9.7% of the state's total including 3,572 free negroes and 114,931 who were enslaved.[3] By the beginning of the American Civil War, 32% of counties in Missouri had 1,000 or more enslaved individuals. Males cost up to $1,300.[4] In the State Auditor's 1860 report, the total value of all enslaved people in Missouri was estimated at US$44,181,912 (~$1.22 billion in 2023).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_slavery_in_MissouriLittle Dixie is a historic 13- to 17-county region along the Missouri River in central Missouri, United States. Its early Anglo-American settlers were largely migrants from the hemp and tobacco districts of Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. They brought enslaved African Americans with them or purchased them as workers in the region. Because Southerners settled there first, the pre-Civil War culture of the region was similar to that of the Upper South. The area was also known as Boonslick country.[1]

A 1948 article in the Missouri Historical Review defined the antebellum "Little Dixie" region as a 13-county area between the Mississippi River north of St. Louis to Missouri River counties in the central part of the state (Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Chariton, Howard, Lincoln, Pike, Marion, Monroe, Ralls, Randolph, Saline, and Shelby counties).[2]

When the Southerners migrated to Missouri, they brought their cultural, social, agricultural, architectural, political and economic practices, including slavery. Overall, Missouri's slave population represented 10 percent of the state's population in the 1860 U.S. Census. But in Little Dixie, county and township slave populations ranged from 20 to 50 percent by 1860, with the highest percentages for the counties developed for large plantations along the Missouri river. New Madrid County, along the Mississippi River south of St. Louis, also had a high percentage of enslaved Africans, but was not considered part of the region.

Also, uh, is the "anonymous" pen name used by the eugenicist itself a reference to a French colonial law that incited conflict between Muslim & Jewish Algerians, eventually leading to violence & mass migration? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cr%C3%A...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cr%C3%A9mieux_Decree

The Crémieux Decree (French: Décret Crémieux; IPA: [kʁemjø]) was a law that granted French citizenship to the majority of the Jewish population in French Algeria (around 35,000), signed by the Government of National Defense on 24 October 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War. It was named after French-Jewish lawyer and Minister of Justice Adolphe Crémieux.[1]

The decree automatically made the native Algerian Jews French citizens, while their Muslim Arab and Berber neighbors were excluded and remained under the second-class indigenous status outlined in the code de l'Indigénat. As a result, the decree did not grant citizenship to the Berber Mozabite Jews, who were only granted "common law civil status" and French citizenship in 1961, over ninety years later.[2]
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cr%C3%A9mieux_Decree

Muslim Algerians could apply individually for French citizenship on paper, but this required that they formally renounce Islam and its laws[3] and their requests were additionally very seldom accepted. That set the scene for deteriorating relations between the Muslim and Jewish communities, with tensions increased by the colonial administration's discrimination between natives and citizens. Seeing a fellow Algerian become a first-class citizen while being left as a second-class citizen made them suspect of collaboration with the colonial authorities as harkis and strongly divided locals.[4]
This eventually proved fateful in the 1954–1962 Algerian War, where suspects of French collaboration were seen as enemies of the revolution and traitors of the people and the nation, after which the vast majority of the Jews of Algeria emigrated to France.

Probably not even in the top two!
The U.S. government purchased Ford’s Theatre in 1866. Secretary of War Edwin Stanton ordered it converted into a three-floor office building, with the Army Medical Museum initially occupying the third floor. It remained a federal records building until 1932, even after an interior collapse killed 22 workers in 1893.

They have less direct control over the Smithsonian than they do over the National Park Service, so the order focuses more on withholding federal funding from OMB to force changes at the Smithsonian Institution.
Sec. 2. Saving Our Smithsonian. (a) The Vice President, in consultation with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Associate Staff Secretary, Lindsey Halligan, Esq., shall work to effectuate the policies of this order through his role on the Smithsonian Board of Regents with respect to the Smithsonian Institution and its museums, education and research centers, and the National Zoo, including by seeking to remove improper ideology from such properties, and shall recommend to the President any additional actions necessary to fully effectuate such policies.
(b) The Vice President and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget shall work with the Congress to ensure that future appropriations to the Smithsonian Institution:
(i) prohibit expenditure on exhibits or programs that degrade shared American values, divide Americans based on race, or promote programs or ideologies inconsistent with Federal law and policy; and
(ii) celebrate the achievements of women in the American Women’s History Museum and do not recognize men as women in any respect in the Museum.
(c) The Director of the Office of Management and Budget and the Secretary of the Interior shall take any other measures within their authority to promote the policy of this order.
(d) As appropriate, the Vice President shall, in consultation with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and Special Assistant to the President and Senior Associate Staff Secretary, Lindsey Halligan, Esq., work with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Senate Majority Leader, to seek the appointment of citizen members to the Smithsonian Board of Regents committed to advancing the policy of this order.

I didn't mean to imply that it isn't intended to affect the Smithsonian. I meant, in addition, the order takes time to give directives to the Secretary of the Interior to change every park, monument, and memorial on federally owned land, which means everything managed by the National Park Service.
Sec. 4. Restoring Truth in American History.
(a) The Secretary of the Interior shall:
(i)    determine whether, since January 1, 2020, public monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties within the Department of the Interior’s jurisdiction have been removed or changed to perpetuate a false reconstruction of American history, inappropriately minimize the value of certain historical events or figures, or include any other improper partisan ideology;
(ii) take action to reinstate the pre-existing monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties, as appropriate and consistent with 43 U.S.C. 1451 et seq., 54 U.S.C. 100101 et seq.,and other applicable law; and
(iii) take action, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, to ensure that all public monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties within the Department of the Interior’s jurisdiction do not contain descriptions, depictions, or other content that inappropriately disparage Americans past or living (including persons living in colonial times), and instead focus on the greatness of the achievements and progress of the American people or, with respect to natural features, the beauty, abundance, and grandeur of the American landscape.
