Love them or hate them, I've been experimenting with running LLMs locally on inexpensive hardware. It's definitely worth the time. raskie.com/post/we-have-ai-at-home #ai #machinelearning #LLMs #agenticai #programming #artificialintelligence

An old vid I'd not had a chance to share, of the Stripe Throated Hermit mating dance, in the Marco Antonio nation park. Was lucky to get so close! #nature #ornithology #bird #photo #photography #costarica

With all the negativity towards ML tech in the creative industries, I found this take from James Cameron to be much more thoughtful than many of the 'burn the heretic' posts. Though I still get the 'burn the heretic' argument. #ml #ai #ArtMatters #art #copyright #creativity

A quick blog post about a recent print ad I created for a commission to promote a business offering ASD and ADHD assessment services in the UK: raskie.com/post/branded-a-certain-w… #art #design #illustration #ad #advertising #autism #adhd #neurodiversity

A shot overlooking the lakes at the foot of Sete Cidades from a recent trip to the Azores. It's an interesting place to visit. Like a cross between Canada and Scotland. Very relaxed. If you like dolphins, dairy, and driving (?), then this place has […] [Original post on mastodon.gamedev.place]

I don't mind posting images directly to Mastodon, but if I wanted to link to and display images directly from an image server, how would I do that? #mastodon #community #help

Going through the photos taken from a recent trip to the Azores, and was struck by how much this shot reminded me of a picture taken on a trip to Barcelona a few months before... #travel #photo #art #architecture #gaudi

Going through some older images to find something else, and found this pic from Amsterdam (Weesp). Most likely from last year. I think this was shot on a Canon M50. #travel #silentsunday #photography #amsterdam

A test animation for a procedural background generator. Wanted to make a looping version, but can't force it to repeat in this iteration, which I guess make this a success.😅 It's based on a Blender geonode experiment, which took a fair bit of thought […] [Original post on mastodon.gamedev.place]

Given current events, I'm really glad #mastodon and the #fediverse exists. Sure, it's not experiencing the same rate of growth as #bluesky, but the fediverse may well end up being one of the least corruptible mass media channels, of ANY KIND, before long.

Why do citizens of the #fediverse appear to favour 'boosting' posts, over just 'liking' them? I was never a big Twitter fiend, but the culture around appreciating stuff seems different?

Recently added a skybox, some background geometry, 'racing' decal textures, and better lighting. Got a long way to go, but it's getting there. #blender #blender3d #godotengine #gamedev #HashtagGames #games #b3d #3dart #screenshotsaturday #indiedev #indiegame
