One of the most satisfying hobby challenges I ever set for myself was to learn to shoot without a meter on an old Kiev. There is some simple formula for adjusting the shutter/aperture ratio that I forget. Take a camera with a meter on your first shoot to check accuracy. Easier than it looks.

I carry this in my little bag. I like to keep my nails trim. “But you could carry a nail clipper!” But then I wouldn’t also be able to open bottles, unscrew three different types of of screw, or perform an emergency tracheotomy with a ballpoint pen. So let’s keep it real.

Just thinking about how when Bob Odenkirk showed up in Little Women and the whole theater exploded with cheers. A stronger reaction than when Cap picked up Mjölnir in End Game. That’s a nice memory. Both are, really. It’s nice to feel hopeful.

All I can say is wow! Great book. I have been relieved to see a little more skepticism about AI in the media lately, and I bet this book has something to do with it. I don’t say this lightly; EVERYONE should read this book.
