Again I have to ask. If Pumpkin Spice is so great, then why don't we have pumpkin spice this and that all year long? Like George Carlin said, if "Winston tastes good like a cigarette should," so how come there's no tobacco flavored ice cream?

Penn State v. Buffalo was 34-6 at the half, I believe, so I decided to cut the grass. Since I'm old, I can't do both front and back in one day any more (well, I could, but… ouch). So I did the front. Vertical cut. Never cut the same pattern twice in a row.

Republicans used to be pretty cool. Until 1964, when the two major parties swapped platforms. Since then, the GOP gave us Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, Rupert Murdoch, Tucker Carlson, the Tea Party, and now MAGA. Have we reached a tipping point? www.tfrog.com/2022/2026/09...

Got a dog. Fenced in most of the back yard to create Dog's personal dog park. Wanted to keep critters out, but we now have a pair of rabbits living INSIDE THAT FENCE, which dog routinely chases away. Meanwhile, dog also has to scare away foxes, who watch for escaping rabbits. Can't win.

Pretty day. Went outside to touch grass. I feel better now. Getting the yard ready for first cut, which is coming up soon. We bag our "yard waste" and haul it out to the curb, where the township picks it up. Pickup is Saturday.
Our backyard, behind the dog fence, is now raked and bagged, ready for the first cut of the grass this week. We have one large pine tree, but a very sexy pine tree. It dropped a massive number of pine cones this winter, all now raked up and being bagged. Yard waste bags are picked up once each month.

Okay, this was a first. Rosie the Runt gets the foot of the LaZBoy, but last night climbed up on my lap. She never does that. I think it's because I've been taking her to the park lately, now that the whether is warmer. But let's not make a habit of it.

Spring. Beautiful day in the western überburbs© of Philly. Time to get out. Getting things ready for the first cut in the middle of April, working one small section at a time (I'm old). Feels great. Our hybrid daffodils always come out after everyone else's, due on Tax Day.
Our very sexy pine tree has dropped scads of pine cones over the winter. This is one small section of the property that has to be made ready for the first cut of the spring. Our fenced-in back yard leaves about 20 feet on all sides, to allow the deer, foxes, and whatever to get around the property without getting inside the yard. Keeps our dog in and wildlife out. Hybrid daffodils are always the last to bloom in the neighborhood. Here they are getting ready to put out blossoms in about two weeks.

Pretty day here in the Philly überburbs©, so I took #RosietheRunt to the big park. What I found out is that Rosie is NOT a water dog. DNA says part husky, part chihuahua (weird mix, for sure).
