Capitalism is the cause of mass migration. This has three main aspects: 1. Wars & conflicts due to imperial plunder, e.g. Iraq war for oil 2. Gross inequality due to imperial plunder, e.g. natural resources of most of Africa 3. Harvest failure due to climate change

Phases of the Industrial Cycle Overproduction is initially disguised by the growing inflation of credit. More & more commodities are being sold on credit. Late payments increase & debts are ‘rolled over’. Credit suddenly dries up www.johnkeeley.com/other-people...

Under capitalist production, the value of a commodity can never be measured directly in terms of hours of abstract human labour but must take the form of exchange value. The exchange value of a commodity is always measured in the use value of another commodity. www.johnkeeley.com/other-people...

Socialism/communism means social/common ownership of the economy. For that to be the case the economy has to be democratically planned. There can be no socialism/communism without democracy by definition.

King $ funds US military might, & military might enforces King $. If the rest of the world wants to free itself from the US empire then it needs to stop funding it.

To put an end to US bullying requires ending the reign of King $. BRICS+ are building a new international monetary system to do just that. It will likely be backed by gold, which has historically been 'world money'.

Something I see a lot of folks missing in discussions about what's happening Venezuela, particularly around oil, is the role U.S. oil majors' interest in Guyana—and the threat Venezuela posed to it—has in all of it. Explainer here: drilled.media/news/guyana-...

The U.S.-Venezuela-Guyana Oil Triangle
The U.S. interest in Venezuela isn’t just about the oil there, but also about the oil next door in Guyana, and the U.S. oil companies that have staked their future on it.

The US military machine is funded by the $ being 'world money'. The $ is 'world money' because the US military machine enforces it. Venezuela, Nordstream, Libya, Iraq, etc all happened because the world is trying to free itself from paying for its own subjugation.

John Keeley @duvinrouge.bsky.social · 04/01/2026
It's all about trying to maintain the $ as 'world money'. They want oil sold in $'s not Chinese Yuan or anything else. It is why Biden blew up Nordstream. It is why George W. Bush removed Saddam. It is why Obama deposed Gaddafi. Etc, etc.

John Keeley @duvinrouge.bsky.social · 03/01/2026
We are seeing the beginning of the end of the $ as 'world money' & so the ability of the US to maintain its world empire. In 1945 the US share of world GDP was about 40%, today it's about 16%. BRICS is approaching 40%. New international monetary system backed by gold coming.

The ruling class have gone back to nationalism/racism after flirting for half a century with the global movement of capital. And that's because that global movement was really a US finance capital movement seeking to control the world. Mass migration & China are the reasons.

Production grows faster than employment due to increases in labour efficiency from new technology driven by competition to reduce labour costs. As a consequence, there is a tendency for the rate of profit to fall & ever greater inequality between workers & capitalists.
