Our friendly neighborhood mannequin now has some bones and weight painting! Next on the list is getting some basic animations and putting it all into Godot!

New video focused on enemies coming out later today!

Week went by quicker than I thought New video very soon tho! I'm also working on a model to replace the player capsule! It won't yet be the final result, but it WILL let me finally give the player some cool animations. Looking forward to showing that off once its ready!

Redoing a parry attack I'd made previously. Originally had an omnidirectional parry that automatically counter-attacked if you landed it I think a directional parry that guarantees a Stagger on an enemy though is probably a lot more hype And tbh, hype is what matters here

Back from texturing, and overall, I think we got somewhere

Also, for anyone wondering, I assure you that there is a detailed, in-universe explanation for why the gun has no loading mechanism, as well as for why the eject is on the top

More 3d modelling work! Touched up the sword a bit and made the base model for the player's handgun. Probably gonna try looking into getting some textures on these next

And by soon, I mean right now! Officially started working in Blender to get some actual assets going for the game. Still getting a grasp on things, but was able to make a low poly sword to get things started off

Sorry for the lack of updates these past few days, just getting back into the swing of things after being sick for a few days More updates coming soon though!

Messing around with shaders. Got a nice looking trail for the player that appears whenever their speed goes above a certain point (The trail bending/following the player was done with the help of this plugin: github.com/metanoia83/G... )

One more update for today! I updated some of the knockback mechanics to make it more smooth, and figured I'd show it off alongside the progress for the Heavy Melee Attack I've been working on!

Will have some more updates to post here soon! Currently working on getting the next video finished up and ready to post within the next few days. Will post a link to it here as well once it's out as always!

About those gauges I mentioned before... Your two weapons empower each other, dealing more damage, stagger, and even attacking faster based on how full the gauge is!

Dusty Kode @dustykode.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

Wanted to show off a bit more for the movement, mainly how the double jump and dash give you a speed boost, and that you even get to keep some of the extra speed until you land!

063

Dusty Kode @dustykode.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

Movement time There's a double jump and dash, both with some momentum to them! I didn't show it off here, but attacking enemies in the air also refresh your double jump and dash at the moment!

Combat! The basics for the system involve snapping to and knocking back enemies with melee attacks, tossing enemies into the air by staggering them, and using both ranged and melee attacks to juggle them! (The gauges in the bottom left might also be having an effect on everything too...)

I can also play jump rope with these ones, lol. Definitely gonna need to tweak the timings on their attacks

042

Dusty Kode @dustykode.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

Enemy movement! Still tweaking it to get everything looking nice, but I've got a working system for enemies spreading out and attacking in sequence (not all of the enemies will work like this btw, but a some will!)

Gonna start trying to post regular game updates here, starting with one of the most helpful things I've added for testing so far: A blue arrow for my current movement input direction And a red arrow for which direction the character is facing
