I haven't seen many people mentioning the denaturalization angle, but that's pretty obviously the ultimate goal here. Stephen Miller has been talking it up. Insane to use Ilhan Omar as a test case, but they do see causing pain as a bonus

There will be a lot of equivocating about all the times search warrants have been executed on members of Congress for corruption investigations and the like, and it can't be stressed enough in how many ways HSI raiding Ilhan Omar is extremely not like that.

I’ve increase the total value in the economy, thus increasing the money. Either money is just a representation of the value in the economy and increases when the value does, or it’s not and the Fed just printing money makes money. You can’t have it both ways

At any fixed point in time, sure, but you’re saying you can’t create money, so I’m interpreting this as you saying there is a finite, fixed amount of money over time. Otherwise the statement is meaningless. And as stated, it’s nonsense

Your statement wasn't just limited to crypto. You said there is a finite amount of money in the economy, which is pure nonsense. Crypto trading is zero sum, it doesn't generate value, but you can't generalize that to the economy

stripping titles years after the fact is such a funny thing that sports leagues do. "oh no, you're going to tell me I didn't win, I guess I'll forget all the joy of that title." Just give them a million point deduction so they spend a year in the championship and force the UAE to sell

They’re acting like the downside is keeping the current regulatory environment and not getting to dictate new laws, when the real risk is getting treated like a combination of Ma Bell and cigarettes

I don't think it is hypocritical to say "I want to punch a specific person as a result of their actions" and then criticize someone for expressing the view that every citizen of an entire country deserves to die

I am definitely included in the demo that came up this way, but I do not understand the adults who want to keep drinking that way. It feels the same as drinking a Natty Ice: briefly nostalgic, fun in the correct setting, but ultimately unpleasant

Given how many legal-drinking-age adults came up illegally drinking vodka mixed with Gatorade, Crystal Light, and Vitaminwater, the explosive success of vodka-laced sports drank is probably best understood as the latest consequence of the enduring childishness of the American palate. More on that:

It for sure saved lives! Making divorce easier and unilateral had an enormous impact
Screenshot of the abstract from Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers’ 2006 Quarterly Journal of Economics paper, “Bargaining in the Shadow of the Law: Divorce Laws and Family Distress.” Using differences in when U.S. states adopted unilateral divorce, the authors find that the reform was associated with an 8–16% decline in female suicide, roughly a 30% decline in domestic violence for both men and women, and a 10% decline in women murdered by their partners. The authors argue that unilateral divorce can both help end abusive relationships and increase the bargaining power of abused spouses within relationships that continue.

I think a big part of this is that the sort of person who wants a cheap EV (read: frugal, environmentally conscious) is definitionally a bad customer for automakers. That customer is likely to own a car for 10+ years, when 40% of Americans change within 3 years. That’s their target buyer
