Cards I like in my decks 29: in honor of my new Nissa deck I offer Inkshield. If you've played this card you understand why, but it fits nicely in with my fog/redirect package to save me early game as I drop lands to get Nissa online. It also won me a game this day after all my stuff was stolen.

Doing a number on us stealing stuff. Unfortunately my wife's decks didn't cooperate the entire time, and since I built them I am taking personal offense and revamping them.

I did already changed out Scroll Rack for Bident of Thassa. Didn't like the Rack in fishing and while it had potential I wanted some extra draw. It also plays alright with my fog effects. Also tried out Kiora of Salt and Sea. It went decent, though an opponent was playing my Maralen deck, which...

Went to the LGS today. Got to try out my new Nissa deck with a pretty chill pod. Played well considering I don't do anything for six turns 😁. I do have to take into consideration that there was some extra draw from opponents effects, but so far I'm liking the deck a bunch.

While the Ur-Sphinx is in with Non-Green Nissa as a theft card, I do have an decent amount of sphinx from over the years I've been pulling from my boxes. The Ur-Sphinx is 0.25, so I picked up another in case I want to build that as a full mill and theft deck.

They also need to acknowledge when their deck doesn't align with their own intent. Sometimes a deck will do more or less than you want for the experience.

I think they're fine. Many of them change the state of the game, from what to interact with to how to play around it. I think people just need to acknowledge their intent with their decks and not use these suggestions and/or guidance/restrictions as a crutch for bad play patterns.

That's always been my take with the game changers, that they give a not-quite-good bar to lean against for describing a deck. People who only use what is said/written either are missing the point of the brackets or are just "following the rules" instead of the spirit of the format. Imo

Last I went to the LGS a person I play with often there had a good laugh (complimentary) and said that no matter what deck I'm playing I always make it Boros, that is to say combat viable. Best compliment I've had in a while. 😁

Cards I like in my decks 28: Bringer of the Last Gift is the creature version of Living Death (kinda) and being a creature based deck means it usually works better here depending on the recursion. It also, like many other creatures in the deck, can be discarded to make TAO less sad and more stompy.

I had to tell him that the Legion is associated by the community with abuses of authoritative power. When I was younger I viewed the Legion as defenders of the good and the people, though age has soured that. So, he wasn't wrong, but removed as he is from the Discourse', well... Oof. 😅
