Just holding up a mirror to local politics. Not the real DUP, obviously. Parody.

Amazing. Dodds and Wilson wanting to reimpose the full effects of Brexit for NI before the Windsor Agreement whilst also opposing the UK having closer ties with the EU that may completely remove the Windsor Agreement for NI and benefit the whole of the UK for trading with the EU. Make it make sense.

From what's mentioned it looks like a protest movement to promote & magnify the influence of hardcore Loyalists, euphemistically referred to here as "grassroots". Expect anti-Protocol protests and action. Expect promotion of the narrowist interpretation of Unionist culture (flute bands, OO marches).

She wants to have the Windsor Framework removed. She also names bands first on her list of Protestant, Unionist and Loyalist culture. Bands are PUL culture in the same way pointy hats were for white men from Southern States.

DUP, and Unionism generally, failing to learn any lessons at all from the consequences of their own actions. The "course of action" that would "best serve Northern Ireland" is for politicians to let the law take its course, both on Drumcree and Garvaghy Rd, and get on with their day job.

Having been on the glue last weekend David Graham regains some sanity this week, taking a swipe at the invisible figures controlling the DUP from behind the scenes (though without naming Chairman Maurice Morrow or Chief Executive Timothy Johnston).

It is now common knowledge that the DUP will bring down the Assembly if a budget is agreed early next year. Too much of my adult life has been spent dealing with the consequences of the games these vipers play as they jockey for political power or self-preservation.

For accuracy it's important to point out that the Irish Sea Border (Windsor Framework) was actively sold by the DUP leader at that time (Donaldson) & his Deputy (current leader Gavin Robinson). It wasn't the fault of any other party, none of which enjoyed the access to the Conservatives the DUP had.

Allister would love to get one over on the DUP but he likes the limelight himself, and might not enjoy sharing it. And then of course you've got the uncomfortable fact of Lockhart being that oddest of creatures from a TUV perspective, a woman.

The DUP have only managed to make themselves look unprincipled, hypocritical, and indecisive. No amount of rearranging the deckchairs was going to keep Lockhart happy so why inflict further damage on themselves and society - makes no sense.

How dare Michelle O'Neill & SF deprive NI people & businesses of representation at this important UK Summit with the Prime Minister. This is just typical of their anti-Northern Ireland stance and ...oh, hold on..., sorry that's actually Emma Little-Pengelly of the DEMOCRATIC UNIONIST Party. My bad.

The coup is underway. Lockhart has sent a 5 page letter to DUP MLAs, MPs, and peers, a page of which is below. The significance of this is that those are the people in the DUP who can elect a leader. Lockhart is against the DUP being in government (stemming back to the Windsor Agreement/ISB).

I knew Councillor Gaston wasn't very bright but I think he's just trying to show off that he can count past 2. Also, Unionism still thinks the way to win over potential votes from the persuadables in a unity referendum is to treat them as you treat your enemies. That'll work...

Ulster Day was a month ago. Flags and banners are seldom removed, instead allowed to rot every year. It's clear those putting them up have no respect for the flags, they're put up simply to territory-mark and intimidate.

I don't know how anyone can read something like this and still come to the concussion that it's a good idea to send a parade down the road. That's not a vindication of terrorists, it's proof that the police decision not to facilitate the march in the interests of public safety was correct.

I'm not a Unionist but there's no way Diane Forsythe knows what the majority of Unionists think on anything, or speaks for them. There's a likelihood the majority would rather not have an SF First Minister but that's not the same as whether they think she should resign as FM over Garvaghy Rd.

David Graham has an idiotic article in the Bel Tel this morning. He suggests Big Gav should step down in East Belfast so that he can enter the Assembly as an MLA instead, with Emma Little-Pengelly running for his Westminster seat. All this would be to somehow help retain Carla Lockhart.
