Spooky friday the 13th album release show at Darrell’s

Gig poster on the wall. It’s a picture of sleestak hanging out. Bands are Best band from earth, Mojo Smokeshow, Dunzo Lesco, Mike Votava. Today! Get yer ass to Darrell’s

A wider shot of the wall full of gig posters on the wall. There are a few more posters (who cares). There is also a big neon Rainier sign. The wall has weird lined red carpet on it.

Exciting! The power went out as soon as we got here to load in. 3k people are out of power in the neighborhood. The low light camera on my phone is fooling you. It’s dark as fuck in here

Dive bar stage barely lit by one LED camping light.

You survived the thunder-nado hail storm, so celebrate with some live rock n roll! We know it's a school night, but no one gets anything done on Friday anyway.

a few from the show on Friday

a graffiti'd toilet lit in all red with a Dunzo sticker right were it belongs, on the top of the toilet.

Viewing the stage from the floor. Ian is on stage in his usual blue track suit, with his back to the audience getting set up. A video projection is on the back wall and reads Dunzo Lesco. It's bright even with the lights on because we brought a huge projector with us.

a view from behind the drums in the middle of the set. Kris is on the right playing guitar, and is lit red and purple. Beyond that, the crowd looks on. At the back is a shining light where the projector is blasting an image all over us.

Preshow prep Thanks to the Swaggerlies for sharing drums.

A view of the stage. Swaggerlies drums on stage. Ian and Kris on the right side messing with gear.

In the bar. Red lighting. A skeleton on the counter. A large image of the log lady on the back wall. Swirls on the floor. Black and white zig zag stripes on the ceiling like the black lodge.

Well that’s a wrap. Time to battle some weather

The initial rough mix is nigh

A view from the couch in the control room. Kris' foot is in the foreground, ahead of that Ian is sitting facing away from the camera. At the end, Phil is at a desk, facing away from us working on the mix on a computer.

Special guest doing some angry sports dad shouting for Balls & Strikes

Brian at the mic making sure the kids stay in line (shouting for the recording)

His overdrive pedal had other plans. 🪦 Good thing the first take was so good.

Viewed through the blurry control room window. Ian is crouched over his pedal board trying to coax it back to life.

Back at it for overdubs. There was a birthday party in the space after we left, and we’re keeping the vibes

Studio space that is mostly empty. Shelves of gear in the back. Big rug in the floor. But now with some balloons strewn about and streamers of orange, purple, and lavender

Dunzo Lesco @dunzolesco.bsky.social · 02/02/2025

Resetting for some vocals and guitar from Ian. His majesty wants more room so we broke some stuff down.

Recording space with the drums pushed back. Ian is tuning an SG. Phil is cleaning up some cables.

Dunzo Lesco @dunzolesco.bsky.social · 01/02/2025

Drums and bass are done! Guitar time. 🎸 Here’s a view from the room and one through the smudgy control room windows.

Side view of the drums and Kris playing guitar. Blurred by a dirty window.

Front view of Kris playing guitar. He’s wearing a green t-shirt and some lousy white pants.
