iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

For me it’s the complete reverse, with 3rd being my favourite.

First book is a slog. 2nd is better, 3rd is really quite brilliant.

I’ve read the whole series recently and it’s really good. Death’s End was definitely my favourite. I’ve found so many interesting parallels in current goings-on.

The funniest thing ever is seeing people on that other site call grok woke because it replies to their question by refuting their batshit claims… then asking Enron Husk to fix it

Riddle me this. If somebody donates £36 million to a political party and £5 million to its leader, how is the £5 million not political? Asking for a parliamentary standards commissioner.

I don’t think LLMs need to get better at writing like people because people are doing that job for LLMs by emulating their cringey writing tropes. Has anyone else noticed this (where LLMs aren’t being used of course)?

I doubt it’s applicable to users in Canada. The EO can only affect the UNIS in the US. It has should have no effect on its name Canada.

Yeah it can only be renamed for users in the US

Fwiw, the majority of the world just sees this and not the fun he had with his sharpie. That’ll show Canada I guess! And we still have Gulf of Mexico too, unfortunately with parentheses.

South Africa has been doing stadium flyovers for more than 30 years. This was rehearsed multiple times, authorised, and executed as rehearsed. The same flyover was done by the same two aircraft in Johannesburg the week prior. 9/11 is American PTSD. Not South African.

Pretoria city is still Pretoria. You’re probably thinking of the metro called the City of Tshwane.

Would love to be there next time!

Honestly I prefer chicken over other meat.

The world is talking about Airlink now, lol. Also seems they've never seen a St. Helena or Skukuza approach and landing 🙃 This was well-rehearsed, authorised, and executed as planned. There are many angles, I implore you to look at _all_ of them. Anyway, back to business as usual for ZS-YDE 🇿🇦

At least subjectively how well

000

I remember your post (not sure where) on how well AVIF actually performed here.

100

yes! I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was but this describes it well 😂

Thanks! Looking forward to the guide for nuance anyway :)

000

Isn’t the guide mostly: almost always choose AVIF unless you absolutely _need_ lossless or SVG. Either way, I always love your image format posts/tools.

Everyone forgets AVIF 😢

this post is load-bearing

Dumbest thing I’ve heard this weekend: “Audiobooks are cheating.” Cheating at what? Being entertained? Always said by a person who reads for clout and not entertainment or enrichment. Try them all: physical books, audiobooks, e-books. Each has its place. Stop being a pseudo snob.

Sometimes I watch the ISS EVAs and it’s always interesting to see how much permanent damage the suit cameras’ CMOS sensors have taken from radiation.

There’s @bookhive.buzz. It’s still early but I’ve started using it in parallel for now until there is feature parity. I’m especially needing the ability to select the edition of the books I’m reading.

When is Bluesky getting passkeys or at the very least TOTP 2FA? This email 2FA sucks…

Duncan Dean @dunxen.dev · 11/08/2026

Of course! I really appreciate the effort you’ve put into making this such a useful and polished app. In my ham club there are many Android users and I’d love to recommend QRV to them too! 💛
