Best part is that no one is sure this is even THE rock, it’s just *a* rock they put a little pen around.

One of these days, I will break out my WEG sourcebooks and finally write the “bring the Glove of Darth Vader series into line with the rest of the Nineties Bantam-era EU” fic that’s been bouncing around in my head for years.

Whole thread is worth a read, but damned if this didn’t hit the nail on the head.

Realised that I’m now treating funny viral videos in the same way footballers celebrate goals — 1) initial joy, 2 sudden panic it might be AI/offside 3) lengthy investigation as joy saps away 4) conclusion, joy modulated through fatigue if proven legit/onside, but angry and gutted if AI/offside

The #rwc2025 was amazing. I went into the tournament really only knowing Ilona Maher and Portia Woodman, both from the Olympics. Coming out of it, I’m now just as big a fan of Ellie Kendall, Sophie de Goede, Asia Hogan-Rochester, and Raquel Kochhann.

I'm still on my Hero Forge kick, but have been replaying "Witcher 3" lately, so here's my take on some of the main characters. From L-R: Yennefer, Ciri, Geralt, Dandelion, and Triss.
Yennefer of Vengerberg, Ciri, Geralt of Rivia, Dandelion, and Triss Merigold from the "Witcher" stories and games. Made in Hero Forge.

I have a love/hate relationship with the 2004 film "King Arthur." On the one hand, it probably ignited my interest in Arthuriana and the historical basis for it. On the other hand, the more I got into the subject, the more ridiculous the movie became. And I just noticed a new piece of ridiculousness

On 27th August 2015, The Shepherd's Crown, the last book Sir Terry Pratchett completed before he died, was published. To mark the ten year anniversary, we have a message from Rob Wilkins:
It’s been ten years since the publication of The Shepherd’s Crown, the last book Terry Pratchett completed before he died. Once the spine on this one was cracked, there were no more new Pratchetts to look forward to, and I know a lot of Discworld readers who were, understandably, with that sad reality in mind, reluctant to finish - or even start - this one because it felt like the final closing of a door.

But I also know that Terry wanted his books to be read and enjoyed far more than he wanted them kept on a shelf. And as time passes it becomes ever more apparent how much the Discworld books reward re-visiting, perpetually revealing something new, literary gems Terry had hidden away for a second or third, or even more, re-read. Every Pratchett is to some degree an unread Pratchett, including the ones you’ve already enjoyed and including The Shepherd’s Crown.

So the greatest way to honour Terry’s legacy is to pull that book you’ve been saving off the shelf, make a nice cup of tea and settle down to read the story he wrote for you. Enjoy.

I’ve been a little obsessed with #heroforge lately (just look at my pfp) and here are some creations I’m particularly proud of.
Gandalf, from “Lord of the Rings,” based off of Tolkien’s description of him (blue hat, white hair and beard, black boots, and grey and silver robes). My Jedi OC, Tobias Vandren.Minsc (and Boo!) from “Baldur’s Gate.”Drizzt Do’Urden and company, from the “Legend of Drizzt” novels. From L-R, Guenhwyvar the panther (or as close as Hero Forge can get to a panther), Catti-Brie, Drizzt, Regis (front), Wulfgar (back), Bruenor, Jarlaxle, and Artemis Entreri.

grim catharsis to stomach 20+ years of the dumbest dummies parroting, "why did he spend so much time on this?" talking points, only for Lucas to have made one of the most prescient sci-fi films of the 1990s in the long run

Welp. Apple snuck something dirty in our phones last night. Settings > Apps > (pick an app) > Siri > Learn From this App TOGGLE OFF. You have to go through each app. My garage app, my BANKING APPS, others had that turned on automatically. 😡
Screenshot of a phone setting highlighting the “learn from this app” invasion of privacy, courtesy of Siri, toggled on. The app is a password manager, which is concerning.
