Finished up some D&D scatter terrain. My strategy lately has been to 3d print really basic stuff from the internet at a rough quality, then cover the shit out of it in lil 28mm plants idk about other DMs but I get the most use out of trees and random ass ruins at the table

We now have zoom to coordinate via URL parameter 🥳 This island of Wærlesshæth was added by a player, an isolated dwarven & gnomish settlement whose waters are dangerous due to karst pillars. The gnomes were refugees of a war, the dwarves rich brewers who chafed at things like laws and taxes

My Worldographer to javascript visualization now handles using x, y, and zoom as parameters iin the URL. This sets the inital view of the map to the be centered on the hex you choose.

Paid $100 for a tiny Lenovo ThinkCentre M910q to install Batocera on for gaming / Plex TV box Works even better than I thought it would tbh. Emulates up to Switch & PS3, everything else upres'ed to 1080p. Steam games natively supported. Plex @ 4k no prob. Only took like an hour to set up. Very cool

Got a basic viz going for this. Over a 2 year D&D campaign, 50 sessions this is how characters were distributed You can see "Tier 1" was a complete arc, after that we picked up a few new players to continue on all the while having a spattering of guest stars along the way. #D&D #D3js #dataviz #RPG

In our D&D lore wiki, every link creates a relationship in the database. What if we could visualize that network across 6+ years of session summaries and worldbuilding notes? WIP but the basic idea works & is automated. Now just needs a lot of tweaking of styling/responsiveness. #rpg #d3js #wiki

Back on my vibecoding bullshit - making a page to share NPCs from my game. Was thinking I could package them up as #FoundryVTT actors + PDFs so other DMs can quickly grab one. Obviously have to add a rolling function too

Work in progress website page where you can "Roll a NPC" from my D&D 5e game and then download a little zip file that contains complete assets for that character - PDFs for print, FoundryVTT actor files, and the generated portraits and tokens to upload to other platforms like Roll20.

Boomerang Cat stat block: same as a regular cat, but with:

eturning. A returning weapon allows you to hurl the weapon in such a way that it returns to you. When you attack with a returning weapon, if you roll an even number on the d20, the weapon returns to you by the end of your turn. You can catch the weapon if you have a hand free to do so. If not, the weapon lands at a random point within 5 feet of you. If you roll an odd number on the d20 for the attack roll, the weapon fails to return to you.

RING OF SUMMON STREAKER: This ring has many lewd images etched into it's surface. While wearing this ring, you can speak its command word to summon a streaker to a point you can see.

Everyone who can see the streaker must make a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be compelled to chase and tackle.

Once the streaker has been captured, it turns into a puff of smoke and the person who tackled it gains the benefit of bless.

After the streaker departs, it can't be summoned again for 24 hours.

This golden gong can be rung with an action, causing all player characters within the Dungeon Dome to fall under the effects of Otto's Irresistible Dance.

Once rung, the effect cannot be used again until the next dawn.
