still no end update because this community deserves nothing (the people who wanted the sift are now apparently complaining about it (wow!))

Gonna make something more official tomorrow as well as do link stuff but here's the dealio. No income. No money. Need Passport and other paperwork. Passport and paperwork need money. This'll be way cleaner tomorrow and actual prices for things will be there too...

i also have some more to say about stoat's development but that's all from a former team member who spilled the tea back in february on twitter (@/cybercatb0y). A quick rundown would be mismanaged projects, misappropriated funds, and generally not getting key features done.

stoat's desktop/mobile applications can't talk with self-hosted instances IIRC (like, how the fuck would you do federation then?), which is kind of a fumble. fluxer can do this though, which is pretty cool.

fluxer seems the better pick between the two in terms of usable product. i wish the readme better reflected their LLM policy though. (TL;DR do whatever/plan/review in private, but the code you PR must be written by your own hands. you are expected to know what it does.) github.com/fluxerapp/fl...

re: discord alternatives i cannot in good conscience recommend stoat (formerly revolt) given how they took ~3 years to fix up their broken/barely working voice chat. i believe their self-hosting requirements are pretty high too.

if on the discover feed (and other for you feeds do this too IIRC), you could politely request that the feed shows you less posts like these (three dots -> show less like this (or similar, i rarely use this button...)) if there are commonly used keywords or hashtags, they might be worth muting too.

Dune Eryksson @duneeryksson.com · 21/09/2026

many forget to label their posts (opting to rely on bsky mod to label them for them). report post -> adult content -> unlabeled -> bsky mod -> add comment to report (optional) -> submit -> block/mute account (optional)
