I got a proof copy of Category Theory for Software Diagnostics, Observability, and Debugging (ISBN-13: 978-1919135014) a few days ago. The interior ultra-premium color printing quality is excellent, including nice to touch matte cover.

The proof copy of this pocket book, with a nice-to-the-touch matte cover, looks great inside too. When I saw it, I felt the same emotions I did in 2007, when I printed stack traces from a complete memory dump as my first book. But this time I didn't forget to put page numbers.

Fingers crossed, waiting for acceptance and the proof copy. Previously, it took me a lot of time to align images manually in Adobe Acrobat, adjust the ISBN position, etc.; this time, I just overlaid the image across the PDF cover template markers.

Fable 5.1 generated a full cover based on the previously generated artwork, suggested front and back covers, and a spine description that could fit exactly into a predefined PDF print production template from the printing factory.

Note: This time I reversed the AI usage. Fable 5 Extra generated the text, GPT-6 Astra Max judged it, and later, I switched to Fable 5.1 Extra for revisions. I will print it next week and start reading with a pen; that may lead to a second edition or at least a new version.

So I copy/paste that fragment into an AI chat (hope it's "fair use") and ask it to explain. It fills the void. Now I'm poised to tackle more complex books I always postponed.

I recently found a great use for GenAI. Often, the math/physics books I read say something like, "It is easy to show that," or I don't understand how this equation came about, or even an illustration/picture.
