I used to eye these volumes a few years ago because of my perennial interest in semiotics, but they were very expensive. I discovered today that they are now available on Kindle at a fraction of the price, so I added them to my commute reading.

I got a proof copy of Mathematical Concepts in Software Diagnostics and Software Data Analysis (ISBN-13: 978-1919135038) a few days ago. The interior ultra-premium color printing quality is excellent, and it also has a nice-to-the-touch matte cover.

I finished reading the first volume today. Surprisingly, it ended by discussing quantum computers, which was refreshing. I'm looking forward to reading volume 2.

I got a 24 kg present for myself from the UK factory: 35 books I wrote/edited over the past few years (no GenAI, mostly new editions, with some very old ones upgraded to an ultra-premium color option), spread across 3 packages, which I have never seen in the author's copy.

This weekend, I revived a binary watch by changing its battery (ChatGPT helped me open and close it). I got it almost 20 years ago, according to my old post from 2007, also featured in Memory Dump Analysis Anthology, Volume 1, published in 2008, and it had not been used for more than 18 years.

I recently took the opportunity to upgrade some books in my library that got new editions while remaining on the reading list after purchase a long time ago, were being read slowly, or had been started and preempted by other books.

Debugging at the Electronic System Level. I got this book many years ago to mine for some ideas. However, I only read a few pages then. I will now review its content in relation to the debugging history series I'm directing and some recent learning.

16 years ago, the website of the newly created Software Diagnostics Services was DumpAnalysis.com to differentiate it from the non-profit DumpAnalysis.org. Only later was it changed to PatternDiagnostics.com to generalize to other diagnostic artifacts beyond memory dumps.

Two months ago, I bought these two Kindle guides to help me organize my engineering stories. I read 54% of the second one and found it engaging. Circumstances changed before I needed to finish reading them, though.
