That looks fascinating! My mother's side was privileged enoughed that even though poor, has records going back to England & can trace the same movements across the South to Texas (and thankfully my grandmother moved to California in the 40s!) Thanks!

Never eat at Applebee's. I have pictures. And Round Table Pizza, I have worse stories about them! Probably most chain restaurants are horrible, but those two I have direct experience in their kitchens and...vom.

I worked for a company in Northern California that had the contract to revamp Applebee's every few years. Rather than clean or maintain kitchens, they paid us to replace equipment every few years. $2k fryers coated in 4 year old grease because they didn't want to pay night cleaners. Vom is correct!

I feel like it's a simplification of what Bourdain was trying to do, use food as an opening to bigger conversations & understanding. Because of this certain bands or artists are on their own shelves. Beatles, Whi/Townshend, Decemberists, Miles, Trane, just to name a few. I hate it not being perfect alphabetically filed, but it makes me less crazy when the fat ones show up. Kinks are still in the shelves but damn they are trying
