SO. It’s not done, but it’s GOOD ENOUGH. All the crap has been sorted through, there are no piles on the floor, there’s space to walk, and I can reach and use both of my desks again. The only pile left is all either trash to go out or junk for donation.

Mom gave me literally all of her diamond painting stuff, there has to be almost a thousand colors here, and every drawer in this thing is full of tools too.I’ve picked out what I want but the rest I may try to trade or sell. I can’t get to my corner desk, every surface is covered in stuff, and I can’t remember the last time I used my second desk. The problem with this, aside from the clutter, is that it’s all good stuff! I keep all of my art and crafting supplies in here, and I get good quality materials.

I found a treasure trove of childhood in those boxes, look at this stuff! The Dr Seuss books are from the 50’s, and the I Spy ones are from the 90’s. I completely forgot about the intricate pop up books trend from I think the early 00’s.

Got the piles sorted out! Husband was surprisingly helpful. It’s such a fucking relief to not be overwhelmed by crap whenever I sit on the couch. We still need to do something about the rug. Hubs and MiL want to clean it, but for the cost of renting a steamer thing i can just buy a new one.

The paint looks like shit regardless of the soot. My MiL did it with a brush in one coat and it’s so sloppy looking, it’s actually been bugging me for years atp. The wall before was a deep red and it peeks through in some spots. If I’m going to wind up repainting, I might go with a new color.

I forgot a before of my vanity, but you can get a good idea of what it was like by the rag in the after. A few months back my neighbors had a massive bonfire and our AC sucked up a lot of ash, so there’s this charcoal-like film on everything, including the damned walls.

Spending the day with my siblings hitting up thrift stores. I like to find old beaded jewelry and take it apart to recycle the beads and findings. Got a nice handful from our first stop! I especially love the birds.
