“Tree lawn” is a useful term for the strip of land between street and sidewalk, but its usage is geographically restricted to near Cleveland, Ohio. I never heard it before moving here, and my brother, in Michigan, hadn’t either. He did have a term for it though: “the city’s problem.”

After her first international flight, my the 5 yr old, jet-lagged daughter interrupted our sleep by suddenly screaming LOBSTER! She never woke, nor did her sister or mother. I, on the other hand, leapt across the room & spent the rest of the night clinging to the meta-ceiling like a cartoon cat.
